Five Little Pumpkin Sitting On A Gate

Five little pumpkins sitting on a gate,
The first one said,
"Oh my, it's getting late."
The second one said,
"But we don't care."
The third one said,
"I see witches in the air."
The fourth one said,
"Let's run, and run, and run."
The fifth one said,
"Get ready for some fun."
Then whoosh went the wind,
and out went the lights,
And five little pumpkins rolled out of sight!

Happy Halloween!

Autumn Serenity

The touch of color scattered into the trees coupled with the early morning chill signal the end of another season.

As I look high up into the sky the birds are making their way southward early this year and I wonder at the reason.

The moth is full and wooly which they say will show that the winter will be harsh and the snow will swirl around us too soon it may seem.

But for now I enjoy the cool breath of the wind upon my cheek that brushes my hair softly across my eyes as I enjoy the remaining green.

Soon enough the brilliant colors of autumn will fill the land as the leaves give us their annual beauty pageant competing with the falling sun.

The sunlight as it slowly slides below the horizon seems to catch the leaves full of fire as though they together are one.

My friends in the far north tell me of the beauty of the Aurora as it dances through the sky in a symphony of light each night.

I have not seen that symphony but I have seen the one that surrounds us with brilliant light as the leaves dance on the wind and it is a beautiful sight.

The falling leaves fill the ground with their colors which quickly fade so they must be enjoyed at the moment as you see them fall from the tree.

Catching them at the moment where they fall in the wind and fill the air with beauty takes my breath away and my heart feels so free.

Each season has its own special beauty but Autumn has always captured my heart in its own special way because it seems to fulfill the destiny of the land.

The brilliant colors are singing their symphony to show us that they have beauty as they fall before they turn dull and gray and fade away as only they can.

Love Always, AJE enjoy your last day of summer for 2007.

Well folks, this is my last week as a member of the staff on theBubbler. Friday is my last day at theBubbler's parent company, OnYourMark, LLC.

Any support requests that you would normally send to me should go to the Contact Us form (currently here: Contact Us) as I will no longer be able to help you. Any other contact should be directed through my personal website: Crystal Odenkirk's Website, as I will probably not be back here very often.

Bye!

Here's what's in the works on the site right now:

* <b>The Great Scammer Purge</b> - I'm in the middle of weeding out fraudulent users who have been banned under a different user name, and reviewing the actions and posting locations for questionable users. It's a delicate operation because I don't want to accidentally ban, say, a soldier who's stationed in Germany and uses the site to keep in touch with family, or any of GE's employees in India who are coming to Wisconsin for training and would like to use the site as a resource while they're planning their move here, or people in the Ivory Coast or in England who might want to peruse our geneology resources. That said, most of our scammers and spammers have IPs in India, Cote d'Ivoire, England and Germany. If you're an active user in one of those locations and you're not trying to solicit information from our other users, you're not in danger of being added to that list (unless you're on a shared computer and someone else is using it for scamming). Inactive users from those locations (who haven't even logged in for months or more), will probably be deleted and banned. The ban will be lifted on a case by case basis at my and/or Keith's discretion.

*<b>Forum software</b> - Our forums software is old and has nearly reached its maximum capacity for useage. This upgrade was much lower on the list, but since we're reaching the upper limit on the software, I'm moving it up.

*<b>Admins</b> - There are some improvements in the works for the Administration of the site. You may not see the admin improvements, but it will probably mean that you will see more of the admins because it won't take as long to do the regular maintenance that keeps the site running.

*<b>Front Page Summary</b> - Keep an eye on the front page of the site. We're planning on changing the information that shows up on the front page to include a summary of all the most recent activity across the entire site.

*<b>Fall theme</b> - Wasn't it just spring? Where did the summer go? The leaves are falling -- time for some color and photo changes in the theme!

*<b>Farther Goals</b> - Among other long term improvements are an overhaul of the journals to make them more usable and user-friendly, changes to the navigation, some bug fixes that were caused when we changed something else (like the notification of new messages at the top of your Account page) and a user feedback system for the classifieds.

I love listening to Joy Cardin in the morning. She had Robert Gerald Lorge, a Republican candidate for Senate, on the show this morning. He went on at some length about how much he believes in equal rights and treating people fairly and she asked the obvious question the caller had been leading to: Do you support the constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage and non-married legally-sanctioned relationships? He hemmed and hawed and eventually got around to yes, he does support it. I love the way she asks pointed questions to force people to expose their own hypocrisy.

I thought a number of you might be interested in this story:

<i>"In an effort to crack down on under-reporting by individuals and businesses that sell goods online, an IRS official said the tax agency is discussing creating new tax reporting requirements. The review of tax policy was first reported on Tuesday by the tax-law trade publication Tax Notes.

While no details were given, the new reporting requirements could mean big changes for stand-alone Web retailers as well as individuals selling family heirlooms through popular online auction sites such as eBay Inc."</i>

<i>PRAGUE, Czech Republic (AP) -- Our solar system would have 12 planets instead of nine under a proposed "Big Bang" expansion by leading astronomers, changing what billions of schoolchildren are taught about their corner of the cosmos.</i>

http://www.cnn.com/2006/TECH/space/08/16/new.planets.ap/index.html

I thought this was pretty cool. I have pretty much given up hope that we'll see interplanetary travel in my lifetime, but hey, defining what is a planet is a good start!
