Rugger's Landing
Rugger's Landing
Canoeing: Rugger's is the perfect spot to initiate a canoe/kayak trip. Rentals are inexpensive and come with the advise of best routes for your ability level, desire of challenge, and length of trip desired. Livery fee depends upon pick up and drop off points. You receive a map of your route with the canoe rental.
There are several rivers to choose from with varying degrees of difficulty and scenery. Routes can range from rapids consisting of a few rippled rocks to Class III. We can make trips in varying lengths from one hour to three days with camping along the way.
Fishing is good in the rivers and the lakes that are passed through and can be either added fun or set up as a fishing/canoe voyage.
Canoe rental is $20 per canoe which includes livery to most drop-off points. There is a livery charge for greater distances.
Rugger's Landing, located at the mouth of the famous Turtle River and Pike Lake in Mercer, Wisconsin, is the perfect place to fish, boat, canoe, and relax.

Horicon Marsh Boat Tours
Horicon Marsh Boat Tours, established in 1963 by the Roland Zuelsdorf family, is now owned and operated by his oldest son Marc, along with his wife and three children.
In 1984, the tour business purchased the Canoe Outfitters property, combining the two, forming Blue Heron Landing. This gave visitors another alternative to seeing the Horicon Marsh, with the rental of a canoe. Knowing not everyone is able to canoe, in 1991 we developed our two-hour Rookery Tour. This bird watching tour included a visit to the largest Heron and Egret rookery in the state of Wisconsin. By 1996 run-off from the surrounding fields and lower water levels prevented us from reaching the rookery and as a result began offering our two-hour Birding Tour.
Experience a canoe or kayak trip through the Horicon Marsh, exploring this wetland of international importance.

WI River Outings
WI River Outings
Located on the WI River, 31 miles up river from the Mississippi River, we're a quiet place to bring family or friends. You'll have your own sand bar, not share a spot on a crowed noisy river. We pride ourselves for having the best canoe rental fleet in the state, perhaps the Midwest. Not only are our canoes light, quiet and very efficient in the water, they're also part of THE youngest canoe fleet in the state.
On the Wisconsin River you can do from 8 to 92 miles on flat water with may sand bar camping options. You can fish for small mouth, walleye, catfish and various pan fish right from the sand bar you'll be camping on. 95% of the river is tree lined and the closer you get to our shop the few houses you'll see. If you paddle from Muscoda to Boscobel, 16 miles, you'll see maybe 6 houses.
So, if you're looking to get away from the crowds, and want to paddle the best canoes and kayak in the state of Wisconsin, come paddle with Wisconsin River Outings!
