Poetry and Circumstance
Variety is my game - I write poetry and short stories on different subjects, lengths, and in different styles, tending towards rhythm and rhyme:
Angel
She came to me, that little chubby angel.
In a dream that was so real
And I wondered just why and how
There was such strong appeal
To this image I had never seen before
Or understood previously
That was, a fact I became aware of -
She was there mischievously.
She dropped her little puppy
Down gently as I stood in awe
Asking me to keep her little pet safe
And then later on, tell others what I saw –
“Oh, for heaven sakes what is going on?” I said,
“How did you get here and why?
I am much too busy for exchange as such
And forget it - I will not await your reply”.
So, I woke myself up at 3 that morning
And thought about our little encounter,
Brushing it off as a simple but fun dream
Yet for years more, considering whether I really had found her.
