Great science title for kids and adults, Einstein....

Had the pleasure of listening to the author on Book TV, speaking from "The Castle" at the Smithsonian.

From the author's site: Joy Hakim | The Story of Science Einstein Adds A New Dimension

The Story of Science:
Einstein Adds A New Dimension

In this book, your students will look over Albert Einstein's shoulder as he and his colleagues develop a new kind of physics. It leads in two directions: to knowledge of the vast universe and its future (insights build on Einstein's theories of relativity), and to an understanding of the astonishingly small subatomic world (the realm of quantum physics). Students will learn why relativity and quantum theory revolutionized our world and led directly to the explosion of technology we all enjoy. Those two disciplines provide what are perhaps the most important ideas in modern science, maybe of all time.

From Amazon:
Amazon.com: The Story of Science: Einstein Adds a New Dimension: Joy Hakim: Books

National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) Recommends
Textbook? Novel? Joy Hakim's books are always a little of both, and this one is even more fascinating than the previous two editions of The Story of Science.....Like all of Hakim's books, this one is filled with anecdotes, historical context, and deeper insights into the real methods of science than any other textbook has ever offered to students at this level. And most importantly, it is a joy to read! .....But don't relegate it to the textbook selection process. Wrap it up for your vacation reading. I guarantee you'll learn more about physical science, about Einstein and his peers, and about the grand endeavor we call science, than you ever imagined---in the most pleasant way possible. -Juliana Texley, NSTA Web Field Editor

The author made the point on Book TV that we need more substance, more content, in the curriculum of grade school through high school kids. I agree.

Regards,
Keith
