another day done
another day done
he marks his time
another day done
and it was a grind
another day past
without hope
another day yet
he managed to cope
just yesterday all was fine
he found a way to unwind
but that was the past
and this is now
everything has changed
he doesn't know how
somewhere along the line
he became obsolete
but he did not pay it any mind
yet tried to compete
was he on the wrong side of the street
there was no writing on the wall
the secret was never leaked
the words were never
passed on to him
just empty stares
hidden grins
the day it changed
he must have been gone
cause when he came back
everything seemed wrong
the world has always been for the young
now he is old, his day is done
is time to pass the torch
sit down and relax upon the porch
he still feels young with weary bones
he stills need to pay for his home
he still needs to feel the need
for people to listen
to take his heed
he may have many ideas in his head
but the yound ones look upon them
as if he were dead
when to stop
when to rest
when to let go
no more to test

Bob Barker retired the other day. Not that I was a fan of his but imagine the drive he had to last that long? That alone is amazing to me. The older I get ,the more I am in awe of people like that that.
This brings me to my own father who is now 95. Even if life was completely fair and he happy half the time imagine 47 and years of unhappiness? Just surviving to 95 is an amazing accomplishment to me but then see ther way the young are now(Paris Hilton couldn't take more than 2 nights in a jail), what will they be like when I am 95? I shudder to think!!!!! so I try NOT TO!!!!

Hello Darkness, my old friend
I've come to talk with you again...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The older I get, the more stories I have
and the old ones keep getting better
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Thanks, Stoney.
Regards,
Keith
