I like vanilla ice cream, specifically New York Vanilla. That way I can add what ever toppings I want. I usually put some homemade strawberry jam or caramel syrup on it. My second choice is mint chocolate chip. I love anything mint!
When I was younger, my favorite was chocolate and it had to be in a cone. It's funny how our tastes change when we get older.
Neither my husband or I can understand how vanilla would be anyone's favorite. This just baffles me. 500 flavors and you choose vanilla???? Sorry for picking on those that love vanilla, but it seems very odd to me with all the choices. As I said before, my husband works for an ice cream company.
Ok, I have lots of faves, cookies and cream, butterfinger, fudge tracks/elephant tracks, Girl Scout thin mint cookie. Basically anything with cookie or candy bits. Anything with choc., caramel or peanut butter. There's too many to list.
Last night when I was at the grocery store I saw purple ice cream. Yes, purple! Probably looked better than it tasted. I'm thinking it was blueberry.
LOL I thought that too but I was actually going to just let it pass this time. .. But it does seem like it wasn't to long ago and I said 'other' because Butter Pecan wasn't on the list if I remember correctly. ...

After looking at all the flavors in the grocery store last night, can anyone choose a favorite? There's a lot to pick from.
Guess what? I'm eating a bowl of Girl Scout Thin Mint right now as I type this. It was either that or pick one of the other 10 flavors in my freezer. This is the first time I ate ice cream since Oct. Can you believe that? That's because I had that cough at the end of last year, then it was too cold to eat, plus my new fillings make anything feel so much colder.
I scream
You scream
we all scream
for ice cream
Vanilla
Chocolate
Butter Pecan
the flavors I like
the list would go on
I like it with pie
I like it with cake
I like it in summer
by the lake
blend it with root beer
blend it with milk
add some malt
it's as smooth as silk
eat from a bowl
eat it on a cone
have one for the road
on your way back home
stoney rohde
...Them's got ears, let them hear
Them's got eyes, let them see
Turn your eyes to the lord of the skies
Take this airline plane
It'll take you home again
Oh how I miss growing up in a small Wisconsin town, with it's street corner ice cream shoppe! It was in Ashland and it was called The Pic. The guy that owned it, Mr Martinson, was just the most friendly loving man you could find. He raised some really good boys. On a hot summer day that was the best place to go to get ice cream. I always wanted to try my hand at making my own, but never found the time or the equipment to do it.
Chocolate chip was always my favorite. There was a Baskin Robbins on the way home from junior high school so I stopped every day on the way home for a single cone. The plan was to try every single flavor, each day a different one. But I never got past the chocolate chip.
Now I just get vanilla and add my own chocolate chips and sauces, and anything else that tastes good with vanilla and sometimes just plain.
A good spumoni is tasty after an Italian meal, though.
And a delicious novelty taste is coffee ice cream with malted milk powder and chocolate sauce.
