I love calico's as well..

I'm not sure what kind of stray we have.. she a nice orange shorthair with light stripes..

I don't have cats now, but growing up we had a number of cats and they where always short haired ones. Never been a fan of long hair cats much.

I prefer the short haired cats as well.. I don't even like petting the long haired cats for some reason.

The cat we had for over 10 years was a Maine Coon named "Kitty". He was the one who died in 2007 after eating the contaminated pet food that was later recalled.

I'm not sure what the two cats are we have now. Maybe tortoise shell and calico mixed? In other words "muts". LOL

Actually they are somewhat named after the knick names we had for our boys when they were little. The oldest was "Boo Boo bear" from they Yogi Bear cartoons (thus the name Bootsie) and the youngest was "Pookie bear" named after Garfield's teddy bear. I'm sure they wouldn't like it if I called them that now though.

We call them "Boo Boo" and "Poo Poo" for short. The cats...not the boys.
