I decided many years ago that i wouldn't set myself up for disappointment anymore, therefore i don't make new yr resolutions.
I will say however that i try to quit smoking at least once every year & hope each year is the one i am able to stick to it... let's see what 2009 brings
I decided many years ago that i wouldn't set myself up for disappointment anymore, therefore i don't make new yr resolutions.
I try not to think of them as 'resolutions' and more like personal 'goals' to try to obtain over the year.
The year of 2009 will bring personal changes in the lives of my family. Knowing this I know we have a lot of personal growth, and changes that each of us have to do. So I guess my #1 goal this year is simply manage a way to get through the 2009 year.
By doing this I plan on many 'goals'...to lose weight, exercise more, take more 'me' time, find a part-time job or start up selling online, I intend to read more, take photography classes, attend a photography club, re-do our house, throw furniture out, paint the interior, and do a host of other improvements on the house over the course of this year. I plan to tackle our back flower garden. I also will spend more 'us' time with my kids and do more 'mini' trips with them, and also check out 'things to do' this summer in the surrounding areas to keep active over this year. I think as a family we need to attend Church more this year also.
I also plan on putting more in depth topics in the kenosha county forum, and try to reach at least a 1,000 more posts this year on the bubbler. lol
Whew, I'm very ambitious this year on many levels. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I make most of the goals.
I actually have started 2009 early with the help of my daughter pushing me and gifts from Christmas. I am starting my Photography Class Jan 7th. I am also enrolled in a Photography Group that meets soon. I'm going with my youngest daughter this Friday to get our hair done. (mine is almost 1/2 down my back and will be shoulder cut/highlights) yeah! I already lost 8 pounds this past month. So...getting a head start on our goals for the year help me think they are obtainable goals to reach.
Good luck everyone with your goals too.

I don't really make resolutions or use Jan. 1st as time to set goals, but I do make goals throughout the year. That makes more sense to me.
Goals for this year is to lose a little weight and keep on exercising during the winter. I did dust off the exercise machines the other day in the basement. That's a start.
My number one goal is to find a new job. I was busy yesterday making up my to-do list and going through things. Today, I'm starting on my portfolio update.
I plan on getting back to learning web design. I started on it a while back and then put in on the back burner until I finished my degree. I was going to start with a class in Jan., but decided to wait until fall. I need to focus on job hunting right now.
I plan on doing more art and spending more time on my hobbies.
"Many of the above" would be my choice...since that wasn't an option I picked exercise more. Just want to continue the workouts of the last couple of months.
Definitely want to continue to learn (the nature of the web business).
Want to actively blog among scores of sites, if not a couple of hundred. Definitely would like to publish WebForging 2.0 as a sequel to WebForging
Many more goals that I hope to make transparent on my blogs.
Definitely would like to see theBubbler.com become profitable!
I'm almost debt free. One more and I'm debt free. I got rid of over $60,000.00 of debt this year. That's a ton of stress off my back. So I'm hoping that I can get through the tough economic period we're going through right now. Best of luck to all for 2009.
sincerly, Steve the (draught head).

Try not to buy anything with high dextrose corn syrup.
Celery, carrots, etc., for snacking.
Just some thoughts off the top of my head.
I've put on 5 or 6 pounds in the last 2 months, but lost a couple notches on the belt and put inches on the arms, chest and shoulders. Largely diet and exercise, and the diet part has mostly been pushing away from the table a bit earlier.
Good video stuff on youtube for diet and exercise.
Heh, I went to go grocery shopping the other day.. ended up putting everything back and went to the buffet a few doors down!
I have been buying and eating alot more fresh vegetables and fuit.. love celery stalks for a quick munch.
I would buy more fruits but I went to buy bananas the other day and they were 69 cents a pound.. 2 bananas for $1! I can recall a few months ago they were 39 cents a pound!

One of my goals to eating better is going to be finding more recipes for making veggies more interesting. I'm a picky veggie eater, so I need to find more ways to eat the ones I do like.
Soup is another good way to get lots of veggies and it tastes good.
Some good goals.. most of last year I spent eating nothing but meals of eggs, cereal, or junk food.. interspersed with orgies of food at the local buffets.
Now, I'm cooking at home 90% of the time. I enjoy the food more and looking for ways to eat healthier.
