You know, every year Hollywood loves to reimagine Christmas as they see it by producing another Christmas movie for us to enjoy. Yet, we all may still have a favorite or traditional film we watch every Christmas holiday from years past.
What's your favorite Christmas movie or film and why? Does it evoke any special memory? Can you remember the first time you saw it?

Plot summary for
The Christmas Shoes (2002) (TV)
Two separate stories mesh - in the first, a young music teacher, Maggie Andrews, begins dying of a heart condition and her son Nathan tries to get a pair of Christmas shoes for her before she dies. In the second, lawyer Robert Layton and his wife Kate are slowly drifting apart and the matter comes to a head during Christmas when Kate takes over for Maggie for the school choir and declines a job in Robert's firm. When Robert's mother passes away, he begins to reconsider things and his and Nathan's paths cross on Christmas Eve as Nathan tries to raise the money for the shoes and Robert tries to get a present for his daughter.
It was a hard choice between A Christmas Story and It's A Wonderful Life, but I finally picked Wonderful Life for the message. I love the leg lamp in Christmas Story--that scene makes me laugh every time I see it, but Wonderful Life always makes me think and makes me glad I showed up.
I've never seen Christmas Shoes, but it sounds like a good story.
I picked Christmas Vacation. Believe it or not I've never seen It's a Wonderful Life or Miracle on 34th Street. I don't think I've seen White Christmas either. I've never heard of the movie Christmas Shoes, I'll have to see that one as well.

I've never seen It's a Wonderful Life either & have only watched a small part of Miracle on 34th Street in passing. I didn't even know there was a movie called White Christmas until this thread lol

Where you been!!!???
Cool (for us) thing about "Wonderful Life" is that someone neglected to renew the copyright in time so it is copyright free - and therefore on virtually every station every holiday season. One of 'em has been playing it over and over for 24 to 36 hours for a couple of years now.
I want to be George Bailey.
Miracle on 34th Street has the quintessential movie Santa ~ he won an Oscar! They're both well worth watching....again and again.
My favorite Christmas movie is "An American Christmas Carol" starring Henry Winkler (Fonzie of Happy Days). It's like the original Christmas Carol but takes place during the depression instead. Excellent version of it and we just watched it last night.
My favorite has always been It's a wonderful life. What a great story. I love classic black and white movies. An Jimmy Stewart wow!
"Buffalow galls won't you come out tonight..."
Christmas Carol,I enjoy enjoy any version of this classic, it is timeless, and has a very good message we all should remeber throughout year.
White Christmas, Bing and Danny will sing and dance their way into your Christmas. Yes it's a story book type movie but the talent those people have is amazing!
...Them's got ears, let them hear
Them's got eyes, let them see
Turn your eyes to the lord of the skies
Take this airline plane
It'll take you home again
