>Which summertime food are you savoring the most this season?

Are your favorite summer foods fresh from the earth or fresh from the deep fat fryer?

Re: >Which summertime food are you savoring the most this season?

I totally love a great steak on the grill! If I can't have a steak grill me a brat! It's oh so good!!

But I do love melons and all the great fruit in the summer also. And can't forget the ice cream.

Mickey's in Hartford is responsible for at least 5 lbs. I've gained this summer. Their custard and burgers are awesome, and they're open seasonally so we have to eat all we can before fall!

I'm diggin' the stuff in Keith's garden this season!

Got radishes the size of plums (that aren't woody)!

Picked the first four green peppers. Have tomato plants with more blossoms than you've ever seen. Best pumpkins this time of year ever. First time I've ever gotten watermelons as far along as they are. I'll post more in the gardening forums, and pics in the gallery.

Had some greens from thinning beets. Yummmmm.

Been eating a LOT of fruit, including reasonably priced watermelon and organic apples from the store.

Lookin' forward to a cream puff at State Fair!

Regards,
Keith

I'll tell ya. I grill all year 'round. However, as soon as that temperature rises my grill goes into overdrive!! Burgers, brats, steaks (I refuse to eat any steaks that did not come off a grill), I've even been known to grill up some bacon, eggs, and hashbrowns on the grill (toast always tastes better grilled, too!).

oh stop!! You are making me hungry! lol

Breakfast on the grill when camping is the best. And don't forget the foil cooking on the grill too. Love to cut up pieces of meat, potatoes, carrots, peppers, etc. and wrap it all up in heavy foil and cook for awhile. Dinner in a pocket of foil is the best. Works great over a grill or a camp fire.

I posted this a year ago and it's fun to see that I feel the same.

Steak on the grill! #1 CHOICE.
Johnsonville Brat #2 CHOICE.

And give me my fruit and salads.

and...

Re: >Which summertime food are you savoring the most this season?

Anything on the grill: beer can chicken, bbq chicken, brats, chops, burgers, steak, fish. I even grill potatoes or sweet potatoes.

Sweet corn with lots of butter and salt.

Fresh strawberries, rhubarb (for baking), raspberries and watermelon. Love fresh fruit.

Strawberry margaritas on the deck. LOL I have to include the drinks, they do have fruit it them.
