Will you be attending any of these Wisconsin summer music festivals?

The summer music festival season is almost here! Which festivals or bands are you most excited about?

We went to the Summerfest last summer. It was the first time I had been there since I was in high school. I left thinking that I certainly did not miss anything. It bascially was a huge drunk party. (we don't drink). The music that night was only ok bands and the ones I wouldn't mind hearing the crowd around was way to much to even get very close. All in all we weren't impressed and left early.

I love going to the festival park for many other festivals over the season. And we do go to concerts at the various fairs and certainly at Wisconsin State fair.

We have smaller concerts from time to time around our city also that I like to attend

I never heard of the BluesFest in Waukesha. This sounds like it could be fun. Has anyone here gone to it before, if so, was it good? When is it this year?

I feel the same way about summerfest. It was nice seeing kenny chesney a couple of years ago though. I would like Ted Nugent to come back to the waukesha county fair. He was awesome a few years ago when i saw him shoot a cardboard cutout of Saddam with an arrow. lol! I would like to see some kind of music though. Walking along the Pewaukee Lake front last year we saw some guy sitting there playin' his guitar. That stuff is pretty neat to see once an a while.

Waukesha Blues Fest is in August. Last year the tickets were outrageous, something like $65 for two days. You'd pay that much to see artists at an indoor venue, and this was outside. I guess the ticket prices are supposed to be lower this year.

I gave up on Summerfest years ago. It is not a good place to see a band. There are too many drunks and standing on a bench is ridiculous and dangerous. It's not a deal either, once your ticket, parking, overpriced beer and food add up. You're outside and you still come home smelling like cigarettes!

If it's not at Turner Hall, I'm not interested. Turner Hall is indoors, clean, smoke-free and has very friendly staff. We need more venues like this.
