How does this winter's snowfall compare with last winter?

Are you loving the snow this year, or are you hoping the groundhog signals that spring is on the way?

Re: How does this winter's snowfall compare with last winter?

I read that we actually received more snow in the month of December than we have in many years. The strange thing about our snow this year is the fact that we get dumped but then it warms up and goes away.

Most winters we get snow and lots of times the same snow is on the ground most of the winter. There is no total meltdowns like we have been getting this year.

It's been a strange winter for sure. I guess the tornado that hit us here in Kenosha in Jan proves that point.

The Milwaukee news was showing averages, and the winter average in Milwaukee was something like 29 inches. Totals so far for this winter were in the 50-inch range!

When we moved to Washington county from Waukesha in December, I wondered why our car insurance went up. Surely there's less traffic in Washington county. Now I know why. The condition of the roads in Washington county is appalling during and after a snowfall. Does the county only have one plow?

Re: How does this winter's snowfall compare with last winter?

OK after getting dumped on last night I am now totally tired of this winter. We had places in our driveway that drifted and was knee deep.

I'm sure that is not as bad as the upper part of Wisconsin but for around here that is just to much at one time. I keep thinking it wasn' that long ago that we weather in the 40's.

Oh well, it's suppose to be warm again in a day and hopefully alot of this mess will melt away.

Seems about the same for me. Snow comes, and snow goes.

Phil says 6 weeks more...a month and a half. That sounds about right.

Jimmy says early spring.

Those two never agree.

Re: How does this winter's snowfall compare with last winter?

This photo was taken this past Saturday after we got dumped with snow. It's really hard to believe a lake as large as Lake Michigan is really under this ice and snow. I stood and felt such a quiet air about the lake that this lake is certainly not known for. It was quite eerie.

Re: How does this winter's snowfall compare with last winter?

It's snowing hard outside again in the Kenosha area tonight!

They are calling for another 5 inches for our area.

I'm tired of WINTER!
