Which library activity is your favorite? Tell us what keeps you busy at your local library.

Our local library keeps the kids busy in the summer with a reading program. They read X amt of minutes and will earn a free ticket to 6 Flags Great American Theme Park.

Winter activities to get the kids there include movies, hands on activities, arts & crafts

I'm so glad this program still exists! It was the only way my family could afford an annual Great America trip. I think we had to read 600 minutes which was a breeze for me.

You can't beat free DVD rentals at the library. I like educational films or Rick Steves travel videos. I read an editorial a while back that complained about our local library buying DVDs of TV shows (like the Sopranos) when they could be buying books. I think that it's worthwhile if it gets people into the library.

You triggered a little memory there...yup I believe it's 600 minutes they have to read.

They have other summer programs as well....read x minutes and earn a free icecream cone from McDonalds ~ things like that.

The free movie/dvd rental is a wonderful idea as well. Once in the library one usually looks around at other things there. Might end up leaving with a book and a dvd!

I haven't been in the last 6 months but, I did research for classes I attended at the Tech.

I do all of the stuff mentioned in the poll. When I drive the kids there and pick them up, I'm there with them.

One of the best times ever: Oldest boy found hunting books, and cooking books for game; next oldest boy {very eclectic tastes} found great stuff he actually got excited about; oldest daughter found myriad books including several to re-read; youngest girl found "great chapter books" in a couple of series and some Newbury and Caldecott Medal winners. I was thrilled to see how excited all of them were with their "finds".

We use Pauline Haas Public Library on Main Street in Sussex most of the time. Most of the rest of the time we use the beautiful library in Waukesha. Waukesha County Federated Library System Home Page

The Public Library in New Holstein is one of my local haunts. I enjoy the resources there, and some socializing with the librarians.

Sometimes I really need a feature where you can click on more than one thing but not all the things on the poll. lol

I drive our kids, I stay with kids, I study, I do research, I help with research, and mostly I just love to walk up and down all the aisle and wander through all the different sections and pick up books that just look interesting.

I usually avoid the computer unless I need to find a book, I rarely check out DVD's, or magazines. Have enough at home.

The fun part about living in a large city is the fact that we have I think 4 libraries to choose from.

We have one that is down by the lake in a very old building. Love just being in there.

Will take a picture soon and post it here, it's beautiful.

The two I spend the most time in are quite new. In fact our city just tore one down and built an even larger one in the same place. It is so nice to be in a place so clean and modern with a cafe that you can sit in after you checked your book out.

Actually I would love to have been a librarian. What a great job that would be to have the chance to work with books all day.

It is where us dead people collectors tend to hang out. Primarily because the books we read we can't check out!

When I find an author I love and don't have the chunk change to head to a bookstore, I'll reserve the books threw the Library.
