Why did the Packers lose to the Bears last Sunday?

Sunday's loss to the Bears ended a super start to the Packers' season. What went wrong?

The Pack seems to have found a running game.
The passing game is going to suffer if the receivers don't catch the ball!

Poor coaching and play calling. McCarthy should have let Favre spike the ball and go for the touchdown at the end of the first half. Play calling was too conservative in the second half. They were playing not to lose rather than playing to win. You can't play it safe and try to protect a lead for an entire half. Let Favre call the plays.

Re: Why did the Packers lose to the Bears last Sunday?

Although I usually don't care for Madden, I would have to agree with his comment that they were to conservative in the 2nd half. The Bears always play us tough and you can't protect a lead or play not to lose. Should have went with a more attack style offense in the later part of the game. Of course this is armchair quarterbacking.

Kicking to avoid Hester was becoming ridiculous. You can't fear a return man that much. You have to have some faith in your coverage team. Otherwise you might as well go for it on 4th down everytime.

Turnovers are hard to overcome, but they can be.

Mark

Re: Why did the Packers lose to the Bears last Sunday?

My short answer is all the above!!
Why did the Packers lose to the Bears last Sunday?
Too many turnovers :
you can not fumble that many times and get as many picks and still win
Sloppy Packers playing resulting in penalties:
Obvious errors like Face mask

Packers lost motivation in the second half :
It already started at the end of the first half when they took a timeout versus spiking the ball, that was juat plain stupid!!! Ask Bret He''ll tell ya!

Packer fans' taunting fired up the Bears;Nawwwwwwwwwwwww

Other - give us your analysis! :
Chicago out coached The Packers and the packers played way to soft

But then it was a typical Packer/Bear Game close and tense.
My question is this,
Why do the packers fall on their face on National TV when it counts?

grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr oh well maybe next week right?

Re: Why did the Packers lose to the Bears last Sunday?

The second half play calling went way too conservative. I thought they switched uniforms at half time. What an embarassment!

Re: Why did the Packers lose to the Bears last Sunday?

Good observations all.

Too bad Driver wasn't on the receiving end of that last second end zone pass...even without the best position on the ball he may have wanted that Hail Mary enough to have come down with the ball and the Packers would be 5 and 0! Wouldn't we have fun running our original poll for this week, "Why the fast start resulting in the best record in football for the Green Bay Packers?"

Anyhoo, I've enjoyed watching the game while having a live Packer Game CHAT here at theBubbler with MrKhay ~ and hope you will too! Just log in at game time and click on theBubbler Chatters in the left hand navigation. See you at the game.

Regards,
Keith
