confussed about this ad

Let tell you I am NOT political, but I do like jokes about polititians.

I have not voted because I have seen a difference in the parties since I gained a better understanding of how they opperate.

I do dislike negative ads and don't care which party uses them I still dislike negative ads.

So tell me why would a Republican uses a bad Republican as an example and comapere with a so-called bad Democrat?

To me that shows how little difference there is in the Parties. Both float down the river in the same direction, but guess who pays the tab?

Yes I know there are other (independant) parties but do you think any would be effective in the two party system. The good old boys rules, regardless.

I am sure you have seen the ad using an ex-president. Your Thoughts?

Actually, I don't think I've seen the ad in question. Or I did but ignored it, which I guess is equally likely because I'm not likely to vote for either a Republican or a Democrat unless that's all that's on the ballot. But you're right, as far as I can tell, neither of the big parties are particularly useful.

As for independent parties, if everyone who was disgusted by the Republicrats decided they were voting "third" party, the Republicrats would become minor players in politics pretty quickly. The only reason they maintain so much power is because they've managed to convince everyone that they're the only options (money can do that, I guess).

I kind of think it's also a symptom of the dualistic mentality in the US in general, too. Everything in the US is either/or: black or white, good or bad, liberal or conservative, straight or gay, Republican or Democrat, with us or against us. But the world just isn't really like that. Pretty much everything in the world is a combination, a spectrum, a grey area. The real problem is that Americans in general need things to be simplistic. We need a country-wide shift toward the ability to think pluralistically.

Edited because my spelling was atrocious. "eith" indeed.

I think they saw the error of their ways and pulled that ad as I have not seen it in a while, although I am not much a TV watcher, especially in the summer.
I hope they keep those type of NEGATIVE ads off tha air. That turns me off to politics more than anything!!!
If you don't have a solution to an issue ,you point out how poorly your opponant has done.

For years I worked as a companay whose genereal manger had good attitude when issues arose. His first question was"How can we fix this so it does not occur again?
Then new management stepped into place. His frist question was"Whose fault is this?

So everyone went into C.Y.A. Mode reducing efficiency proportionately.
I think the same thing can happen in politics. If they stop looking at "Party Lines" and started looking at issues maybe something could happen. Maybe the rhetoric would dissapear and we could move on and develope as a state/nation together.

Very true.

I've seen both sides of that kind of management. It used to frustrate me when I was running a production dept. that dealt with in-company vendors because I tried to be that good kind of manager, and then when I had to deal with a problem with the vendor (in this case a printer), it was always about finding a way to turn it around and blame it on the Production Dept (me and my people), regardless of what the problem was. They forgot to unlock the door so the truck drivers could pick up the paper in Chicago? Well, obviously that's MY fault from all the way up here in Milwaukee. I must have sent them my files to be printed wrong or something.

You know, I wonder if that's intentional, about the ads turning people off of politics? After all, the less people who vote, the less people you have to worry about keeping control of and hiding your real agenda from.
