This is the first I've heard of this (when it comes to WI politics I've been much more focussed on stopping the marriage ban). What's happening?

An employer can do the same thing to curb insurance costs. In an instant your care is reduced and you can't continue to see your regular physicians.
Bill S 1955 is even more terrifying. While it would allow groups to purchase insurance plans across state lines, it can also override the laws that many states have in place for guaranteed care. Mammograms, prenatal and postnatal care, cancer screenings and other preventative care procedures could lose state protections.
We all need to be proactive and vocal about the absolute disaster that is healthcare in America. Look up your legislators and get writing!

it's All Crap!
For 30+ years i paid into social security. Then last year I was injured and couldn't work. 3-doctors have me listed as "disabled", and yet I cannot receive my disability checks from social security, as the turned me down. they say I have to wait. Why do I got to wait. they didnt have to wait when they took all that money out of my checks!!!!! I have been waiting for 11-months for a check, and I still can't work. I have lost almost everything I own, and am barely hanging on to my apartment. All this could have been solved if social security would have paid me, when i had 3-doctors contact them and stated that I was disabled, and not able to work. Oh thats right, I am an american asking for help.

Good point on being an American, and not receiving the benefits of an American. If you'd have indicated on the form that you were a hispanic, here illegally, you would have been moved to the front of the line, and given full benefits, with a bow tied to the basket.
Seriously though, you must appeal the initial decision. This will require an attorney, and of course, the attorney will have to get a cut of your benefit.
