Is it me (comment on anyone of these)

IS IT ME:
Or does anyone else think George W. is a self-rightous pompous ass?

Or does anyone else get offended with being labeled "unpatriotic" because my opinions vary from the administrations?

Does anyone else think the Axis Of Evil is really George W, Rumsfield and Ashcroft?

Does anyone else think Bill Maher is the Rush Limbaugh of the new millenium?

Does anyone else think the Democrats blew the last 2 elections out of conciet and just plain stupidity?

Did Dean really lose control or did the republican Media blow it way out of context because they knew he could beat George W? Effectively letting the Republicans choose both candidates.

Did Tommy get out while the getting was good, and leave a mess for the next Govenor? Personally I can't see his appointment HELPING his political aspirations.

Well that's enough for now, answer what you would like to

lol another rant
Rex

I think he's clever. He's not the smartest or most articulate guy around, but he somehow manages to use that to his advantage.

His staff are also masterful at manipulating the media.

contrast him to Clinton with a high IQ.... still needed polls everyday to tell him what to say and do... kept the internet bubble going at the expense of the Armed Forces through budget cuts and attrition...

Bush is wrong in that he tries to emulate big spending Democrats and falls for the same "cheap labor" forces that the Democrats are in bed with... at least Dems get votes out of "illegals", just ask Mayor Daley.. or is Daily? well, they all look alike, but I'll get a commission to look into it..
sorry, but that's IlliNOISE....

Seems as if GW moves whichever way the strings are pulled. He's all about patriotism, and love of country, but he allows our national borders to stand wide open. Those lines on the map...they're there for a reason.
Throw billions of dollars at someone elses civil/religious war, add to that the millions of dollars that Israel gets DAILY, and the American taxpayer is paying an extremely high price for someone elses freedom. There was a saying during the VietNam war days..."Fighting for someone elses freedom is like f****** for someone elses virginity".

Do you really think that it takes an Ivy league education to run this country? I ask this question becase sometimes I think that I could do a better job. Does our president need that education to simply run a PR program to buffalo his constituants, extort tax money from us, and play chess with our military programs. Doesn't it seem that we could come up with better candidates in local governmet? Some of these people understand what we need, how things should be run, and what it would take to get us to a better state of affairs. I really wish that the libritarians would put someone up that will receive the backing and recognition they deserve. I am tired of being ashamed of my president.

:x When will we be able to proud of our president and the way that our government is being run.

I'm glad you asked.
Either one should take their skits to Las Vegas. Both are merely entertainers. It's just that Maher is already at the proper medium...that being the Comedy Channel.
"I pity the fool..." that believes Limbaugh, or Maher have a pipeline to the straight story. Frankly, I haven't met anyone that knows what's really going on, that is outside the D.C. Beltway.
As I posted earlier, they all follow the bandleader in their little waltz of world domination.
Can't do it without all the oil, doncha know.

Re: Is it me (comment on anyone of these)

You know, this phenomenon of people not being able to put an act in its proper forum seems to be a common problem. I first noticed it in listening to people watching George Carlin skits, specifically his "Jammin in New York" bit. He has a bunch of material about the Persian Gulf war.

Here'a brief excerpt:
Quote:
And, the war got good ratings too, didn´t it? Got good ratings! Well, we like war!

We like war, we´re a war-like people! We like war because we´re good at it! You know why we´re good at it? Because we get a lot of practice. This country´s only 200 years old and already we´ve had ten major wars. We average a major war every twenty years in this country, so we´re good at it! And it´s a good thing we are, we´re not very good at anything else anymore! Hah? Can´t make a decent car, can´t make a TV set or a VCR worth a fvck ... got no steel industry left, can´t educate our young people ... can´t get health care to our old people ... but we can bomb the 5h1t out of your country alright!

I laughed. I laughed my @ss off the first time I saw this. I still find it vastly entertaining- I mean, the guy is a terrific wordsmith. I mean, you make a few sweeping generalizations, highlight a few choice facts to heighten the sense of irony then drop in some really eloquent word play, and you've got...entertainment...not a moral treatice. I tend to be one to not take myself too seriously though. I like being entertained and therefore let it happen more easily than others.

But I was really kind of taken aback by all the drunk people going, "wow man he's totally right America sucks." I'm like, Firstly, he didn't say America sucks. Secondly he was in the air force (though I *think* dishonorably discharged) so maybe he's got bitching rights that others don't. And thirdly, where is your BS filter? Where is that poorly named thing called "Common sense?" And lastly, maybe he planted a seed that makes you want to re-evaluate your level of participation in society, but please take a look around- its not exactly balanced complete rhetoric, and its not supposed to be!

So I've heard it said (but cannot cite a source) that more people get their news from cable TV comedy shows than from the actual news. It makes sense, certainly. I mean, people retain funny things better than dry things. I just saw an older movie called Man of the Year where Robin Williams plays a comedian that runs for president...complicated plot that you can find on IMDB or wikipedia, but you know...I don't think its that far fetched. that an independent candidate could at least get into the debates by making use of Comedy Central as a primary media outlet. Granted, this is coming from a guy who does not own or have a television in the house. I've heard rumour of a new reality tv show where young people mostly on myspace will try to get an independent candidate a fair shot in the election. Don't know much about it, but it just goes to show that the way people approach such things is changing.

Common sense being the operative word, here. Society needs to start using their heads for something other than door stops.
