My Veiw-Your Veiw,, Lets Talk
:? Hi all
I was watching cspan last week and I just have to tell someone about what I know to be true!!!!!
They were having hearings on sociaal security and the head of S>S siadthat the fix is so eazy that he can't figure out why Bush is lying to us all. The eazy fix is to simply add 1% to what employees and employers pay in every 20 years, It is a permanent fix.
Why All The Hoopla...........Please post what you feel...

:? Why is it that Bush does not want to raise the cap for how much earnnings you should pay Social Security Taxs on. He's saying that someone making $6,000,000.00 a year should pay the same amount of Social Security taxs, That someone making $90,000.00 a year does. 90 Thousand is the cap. WHY???????????
Is it a wonder that the S.S. Fund needs Help!!!!!!!!!![/b]

My view
Thru the years I've heard alot of different views.
I agree, why should someone making 6 mil a year pay the same as someone making 60 g?
One thing I would like to know, Why isn't SS set aside in a seperate fund, instead of being used by the goverment to make ends meet?
At one time there was talk of a flat 10% sales tax, that would cover taxes and SS. No exemptions, 100% participation. good fix or pipe dream?
If we allow people a certain percentage to invest for thier retirement, what of those who go bust? It'll only end up costing more in the long run because we all know the goverment will bail them out.
part 2 of that arguement, we will only allow them to invest in certain areas. Who chooses them areas? won't this open the gates for unscrupulous companies and politicians...(like there is such a thing lol) how much will a spot on that list cost?
Personally, I think we are treating the symptom, not the disease. Cut the cost, make goverment responsible, get rid of pork barrel..decrease the buracracy (spelling sucks) Kill the virus and the disease will take care of itself
Thanx
Rex

8) Rex, I like the way you think. You have the right idea about the flat tax, But it should be a 15% flat tax for income tax not sales tax. Then we surely would be the richest nation in the world.
On average Low and middle income people are paying about 21% income tax. SO if the million-airs (Heads) PAY there fare share ( The 15% flat tax ) instead of donateing a million dollars To the republican party for a million $ Deduction.
Some how we have to get the word out to have the 90Thousand$ earnings cap droped ( IF,IF,IF,IF,IF, ). SOCIAL SECURITY Would have enough money in it for our Graet,Graet,Graet Grand Children.
HOW DOES THAT SOUND FOR KILLING THE DESEASE AND NOT THE SYMTOMS.........[/b]

flat tax YES ..... 20%
SS raise cap..... YES .... bu not unlimited.... say 150,000..... BUT why should upper income people pay more to receive the same as the 60,000 guy? that is fundamentally unfair, discriminatory. Just because a guy makes a lot of money he/she is not obligated to pay more for products and services.... reminds me of communism: IRS should provide an automated form that promotes voluntary relinquishing of SS benefits up to a time or amount limit... "for the sake of the country" ... voluntary communism inthis case!

What's up with that!!
Why did CNN only show the 3 collage kids who went to NEW ORLEANS
to help only once this morning. They were able to drive right up to the convention center with no problems?
On there way in they filmed 40 to 50 empty school buses driving out of the city ( EMPTY )!!!!
