Success? Not a success? I'm sure there are alot of articles that slant both ways. Many feel they made the correct choice in going for this program, some may not. I'm sure since you like to find the negative in most everything to do with anything with the gov etc. it doesn't surprise me that you are one that is not in favor.
Doesn't surprise me that you find favor with government freebie programs.
Doesn't surprise me that you find favor with government freebie programs.
lol lol you are so funny how you sit back and let someone merely post a message or an article and then you pounce and reply the way you 'see' things they wrote even though it's so off the mark sometimes. I never once said I was for or against the program... or in favor with gov freebie programs. geez. I merely posted an article about WISCONSIN POLITICAL NEWS. (look above at the actual forum here...WISCONSIN POLITICAL CONVERSATION). I wasn't stating anything about how I felt, just adding a news article that I found that I thought other's may be interested in reading and posting a comment. I was sharing and staying neutral.
guess what..... you can't suck me into one of your arguments.
Have a great day Mark.
lol

As long as this is the thread to discuss Cash for Clunkers.......
It's official, C4C is an undeniable failure. Here's another "slanted" article. I wonder who would have predicted this outcome? Oh ya, me. Along with anyone else with a lick of comman sense. lol
Well, it's been about six months since the "cash for clunker" program. After all those billions, do you feel the globe cooling? Is the economy better? Is the car industry any better?
Hmph.
Anyway, let's get back to new taxes coming.
What's Doyle have in mind for you besides his huge stupid Global Warming tax hike bill?
Maybe, just maybe, if Doyle would stop raiding the current transportation fund for his pet projects, we'd have plenty of transportation money.
In the previous three budgets, the governor and Legislature diverted $1.2 billion from the transportation fund and replaced some of the cash by authorizing the DOT to issue bonds. Those actions reduced the transportation funds by about $435.4 million, according to Legislative Fiscal Bureau reports.
I've been telling you, the VAT is coming. Learn the term.
But politicians love the hidden aspect of a VAT as way of duping voters. To them opaqueness is a feature, not a bug.
One day you'll go out shopping and wonder, "why is everything so much more expensive"? Kind of like now, eveyone wondering why food prices jumped so much.
Here's a question, if ObamaCare saves money and reduces the deficit, why the sudden panic to raise taxes?
The United States should consider raising taxes to help bring deficits under control and may need to consider a European-style value-added tax, White House adviser Paul Volcker said on Tuesday.
Have you learned what a VAT is yet? Libs love it because it's a gusher of money to the gov't. Where do you think that money comes from? They also love it because it's "hidden" from you. Classic spineless libs. If you're going to tax the living daylights out of us (Obama said you're taxes will not go up one dime), at least have the guts to tell us to our face so we can see it.
Trial balloons have been going out all week, re: a VAT, value added tax. If that ever happens under Obama's watch, what did it really mean when he said "No middle class tax increases"?

Obama is a politician, not a statesman.
Politician=liar.
Feel like "big brother" is watching you yet? All governments are getting desperate for revenue, so the heavy hand of government is coming to a commercial near you.
For all you folks that "knew what you were supporting" when you cheered the passage of ObamaCare, did you know this?
Some 31 million families will soon have to pay an average of $1,033 in higher taxes because the child tax credit drops from $1,000 to $500, and 35 million married couples "will pay an average of $595 in higher taxes next year" because of the reinstatement of the marriage penalty.
Starting with the 2011 tax year, the W-2 form you get from your employer will include the value of your employer-provided health benefits as well as your wages. That means in the future you may be paying income taxes on your insurance too.
Doubt it. So what that means to you folks that get health insurance through your employer, is that you'll be paying hundreds of dollars more in Federal income tax. That's because whatever your employer pays for your insurance will now be considered you income, subject to tax. Congratulations progressives.
