This kind of stuff is coming and you'll be seeing more and more of it. Your electric company is not interested in you having smaller bills. So the goal is to use less electric, but have bigger electric bills.

It's not related, but it's proof of what I pointed out earlier.

Cap and Trade is meant to reduce everyones energy usage by making it more expensive. Higher costs means you'll use less.

But it's a spiral. Utilities will not be getting the extra money you spend on energy under Cap and Trade, the government does. So you use less energy and the utilities make less money.

So they raise their rates to make up for you using less. Just like your article.

So we'll all get hit twice. Rising taxes and rising rates.

All in the name of junk science.

Maybe I should have brought this up long ago. Cap and Trade is nothing new. California has been doing it for 3 years.

How's that economy in California doing?

Worst part, they plan on raising even more carbon taxes in individual cities. This is a sign of things to come. When any government body is short of cash, raise taxes in the name of saving the planet.

You never can really tell with any Politician, but it looks like Feingold is backing away from Cap and Trade....for now.

The problem, as I see it, is if you're a good liberal, environmental, "go green" democrat, how do you say Cap and Trade will hurt anyone? If Cap and Trade is moving us to "millions of green jobs" in a new "green economy", how can it harm Wisconsin? Obama said Cap and Trade is a "jobs bill".

What did the credits actually do besides relieve global warming guilt?

Will they do this from now on?

What happens when the price of these credits goes to 17 dollars (like France wants) instead of 25 cents (current price)?

It's a typical global warming scam folks. Makes good P.R., makes you feel better about yourself after spending money on nothing, but has no verifiable results. For a mere $2000, they can claim that they are "carbon neutral". But is anything actually different?
