I wonder who the wealthy nation is? Only 10 billion. Not much by todays standards. But it is only to "begin preparing".
Ah ha, 2008 was cooler, but global warming made it "less cool". This nutjob refereneces the recent government report as a source of facts. That report is already torn to shreds by real facts. That's the message of alarmists, don't let real facts get in the way of the message.
The scientists declared that global warming has become a “pseudo religion” and they noted that rising CO2 has “had no measurable effect” on temperatures. The German scientists, also wrote that the “UN IPCC has lost its scientific credibility.”
Just is case there's someone out there silly enough to think "cash for clunkers" will have some kind of effect on the climate, read this and come down to reality.
Concerning the Earth's carbon cycle, the anthropogenic contribution and its influence are so small and negligible that our resources would be much better spent on other real challenges that are facing mankind.
These politicians just don't get it. The end of mankind is coming and all they care about is healthcare that you won't need when civilization is gone.
Call your congressman and senator. Get them working on saving the planet again. Good Lord, people are dropping dead in Africa, Hurricanes are growing, Ice caps are melting, species are going extinct, California has no water, Sea levels are rising, coral reefs are dead, glaciers are melting, brothels are struggling.

Skip the conspiricy stuff in the article, it's stupid, the interesting point is that if this new tax goes into effect, the old standard gas tax still stays. Double tax. Imagine that. You'd be better off with the big SUV burning up gallons of gas and keeping the gov't happy with what they have. You could by cars that got 500 miles per gallon and you'd not save one penny in cost.

Then they have to call the Coast Guard to rescue them. So in reality (theory), they caused more global warming by having to have ships burn fossil fuel to save them. Wouldn't it have been better for this fragile planet for them to just suck it up and freeze to death (for the sake of the planet)?
