One of the most widely quoted and most alarmist passages in the main 2007 report was a warning that, by 2020, global warming could reduce crop yields in some countries in Africa by 50 per cent.......
The origin of this claim was a report written for a Canadian advocacy group by Ali Agoumi, a Moroccan academic who draws part of his current income from advising on how to make applications for "carbon credits". As his primary sources he cited reports for three North African governments. But none of these remotely supported what he wrote. The nearest any got to providing evidence for his claim was one for the Moroccan government, which said that in serious drought years, cereal yields might be reduced by 50 per cent. The report for the Algerian government, on the other hand, predicted that, on current projections, "agricultural production will more than double by 2020". Yet it was Agoumi's claim that climate change could cut yields by 50 per cent that was headlined in the IPCC's Working Group II report in 2007.

A new study has concluded that Amazon rain forests were remarkably unaffected in the face of once-in-a-century drought in 2005, neither dying nor thriving, contrary to a previously published report and claims by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.
Here's big government at it's best (worst). In order to "prove" that global warming is a problem, Obama creates a government task force to "study" the problem. Big Surprise, they find that the government, and the country itself, is not able to function fully because of global right now!
"The Task Force has found that climate change is affecting, and will continue to affect, nearly every aspect of our society and the environment," the report states. "Some of the impacts are increased severity of floods, droughts, and heat waves, increased wildfires and sea level rise.
Did we really need to create yet another government task force just to repeat the same old tired (and untrue) talking points?

Here's the reality of "saving the planet". The far left loony environmentalists convince government leadership that we must stop drilling for oil in order to save the world. What ends up happening, over and over, is that other countries laugh, say thanks for the oil, and drop a drill right next to where we would have been.

So while this administration convinces you that the answer is windmills and solar panels, other countries are laughing at our foolishness and glady taking the oil we're leaving behind.
Are you ready to pay 7-9 dollars a gallon for gas to "save the plantet"? That's what this study says we'll need. Oh by the way, just in case you think your hybrids are the answer, this study says they have no effect on GHG emissions.
Direct transportation (fuel) taxes generate the greatest reductions in CO2 emission from transportation, achieving CO2 emissions at 86% of 2005 levels by about 2025. The gasoline prices that achieve these reductions are in the range of $7-9/gal, however, which is considerably higher than the American public has been historically willing to tolerate. Strong income tax credits for the purchase of new diesel, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid vehicles are very expensive and essentially ineffective at reducing GHG emissions from transportation.
Meanwhile, back in the real world, windmills will be obsolete before they're built. Let's stop wasting our tax money on them. We're finding so much gas that they have to control production to keep prices up. Just imagine what we'll find 10 or 20 years from now.
Anyone that thinks that solar panels and stupid windmills are the answer to a National Energy Policy is an idiot.
