Turning vegetarian to save the planet may actually have the opposite effect. Cow farts will be replaced with increased human farts. Same planetary destruction. So just keep on eating dead cow, it's not any worse for the planet after all.

Cars with low emissions will receive preferred parking on Wisconsin streets and in local government lots under a model-ordinance developed by state officials. So the State will buy electric cars with you tax money, pat themselves on the back, and get the primo parking spots all over the State.
In 20 years, no new home or commercial building should draw power from the electric grid, but should generate its own from renewable sources. State government officials (DNR) will track whether private residences and facilities are using only the amount of energy they generate on-site. Think a machine shop can run welders and lathes on windmill and solar panel power? How about a new manufacturing plant? Why would anyone build a new business with these ridiculous new rules?
A “Climate Change Coordinating Council” will create global warming “training programs” for students and teachers from kindergarten through graduate school. In other words, government officials can use the education system to scare people, from small children to young adults, into doing what government wants, using global warming as the pretext.
Wisconsin will adopt the restrictive California vehicle emissions standards, piling new expense on the purchase of a car in this state. At least $1000
It will be illegal to allow a diesel engine to idle for more than five minutes unless it's below 10 degrees.
On top of all that, this bill greatly increases the size and scope of the DNR. That's right, the agency that can't even count deer is going to control and regulate global temperatures via fees, taxes and mandates. So the only jobs I see being created, as Doyle touts, are in the DNR.
Imagine being up north on a snowmobile ride. You and your pals stop at a local pub for a soda and burger. After a while, you go outside, start you sleds and talk about where to go next or whatever. Your friendly DNR agent will be watching to make sure you aren't idling more than 5 minutes. If you do, you get a fine. Same thing in the summer with your boat.

A central claim was the world's glaciers were melting so fast that those in the Himalayas could vanish by 2035............Hasnain has since admitted that the claim was "speculation" and was not supported by any formal research. If confirmed it would be one of the most serious failures yet seen in climate research. The IPCC was set up precisely to ensure that world leaders had the best possible scientific advice on climate change.............When finally published, the IPCC report did give its source as the WWF study but went further, suggesting the likelihood of the glaciers melting was "very high". The IPCC defines this as having a probability of greater than 90%.
Wonder if this factoid will make it into Wikipedia's global warming page.

So then why would car manufacturers continue to design, develop, manufacture, market and expand the electric car market?
Simple, as long as governments are ran by radical zealots, there's a virtual gaurantee that your cars will sell. Either by direct government purchase, heavy credits and subsidies, or by artificially raising gas prices to make these boat anchors appealing.
Just wait until you have to pay not only to replace you battery (before you expected), but also pay to have it disposed of. We're talking thousands of dollars.
I'll also predict, on the record, that your insurance will also skyrocket. Not just because of the cost of the car, but over time, the cost of cleaning up environmental spills after batteries leak after car accidents. This will happen after millions of these junkers are finally on the road and some environmental wacko, probably a DNR empolyee, discovers all the damage done by these accidents. Then there'll be a law passed that insurance will have to cover this. This is called a mandate. Your insurance will skyrocket to cover the cost of the white suited DNR mobsters (or companies approved by the DNR) to come out and clean up your mess. There'll also be a new mandate to have insurance cover the disposal of batteries after they die of natural causes. You can't expect the poor to pay after all. Have the greedy insurance companies pay.
I'll also predict, on the record, that thievery will escalate. The junkyards that hold these cars will have to be locked up like fort knox to keep the thieves out. There are many pounds of precious metals sitting in these cars. Once the black market opens up for this stuff (these metals are precious because of short supply), criminals will take command.

In the 1970s, nearly 600 Canadian weather stations fed surface temperature readings into a global database assembled by the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Today, NOAA only collects data from 35 stations across Canada.
More African scare tactics are de-bunked. Whenever someone uses Africa as part of their global warming scare, ignore them. It's a scare tactic.
That the IPCC is citing non-peer-reviewed, non-scientific research from quasi governmental semi-independent sustainability advocacy organisations must say something about the dearth of scientific or empirical research.

The scientist behind the bogus claim in a Nobel Prize-winning UN report that Himalayan glaciers will have melted by 2035 last night admitted it was included purely to put political pressure on world leaders.
Dr Murari Lal also said he was well aware the statement, in the 2007 report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), did not rest on peer-reviewed scientific research. (Ed Begley, where are you?)
In an interview with The Mail on Sunday, Dr Lal, the co-ordinating lead author of the report’s chapter on Asia, said: ‘It related to several countries in this region and their water sources. We thought that if we can highlight it, it will impact policy-makers and politicians and encourage them to take some concrete action.
Where does the IPCC get all it's lies? Well the World Wildlife Fund of course. Environmental alarmists, not scientists. At least they only had to get info from one place. Don't want to overwork anyone that's saving the planet.
More evidence that the IPCC used wacky environmental extremists for their "data" as opposed to real tried and true science. Those bonehead moves end up filtering all the way to driving government policies and school curriculums. Not to mention, creating a bunch of new liberal industries of professional protesters, lawyers, activists and carbon trade scammers (Al Gore).
Now the SEC (government) wants companies to disclose the effects of climate change on their companies. I'm sure this won't have any effect on stock prices. I'm sure everyone will be honest. I'm sure the government will have clear and concise guidelines for everyone to follow. I'm sure this is based on reality.

So now they have to heat the fluid. What kind of heat? I'll bet some kind of "fossil fuel". So now these windmills have their very own carbon footprint contributing to global warming.
Notice how they just glossed over the cost of these things? $300,000 each to supply electricity to 35 homes. I don't believe that number, but let's give it to them. $300,000 does not include the cost of all the future repairs and maintenance. And there's plenty. But that cost equals almost $8600 per home, under optimum conditions, plus the cost of maintenance and the cost of heating the fluid all winter. Not to mention, under normal conditions, they run only about half the time.
And they call this "green technology". I call it backwards.
You wanna buy one for your backyard, go ahead. But I don't want to pay taxes to pay for these stupid things just so we can feel better about using electricity.

The other was a dissertation written by a geography student, studying for the equivalent of a master's degree, at the University of Berne in Switzerland that quoted interviews with mountain guides in the Alps.
The revelations, uncovered by The Sunday Telegraph, have raised fresh questions about the quality of the information contained in the report, which was published in 2007.

You can feverishly construct all the wind towers and solar plants you like to replace that one coal fired plant. You’ll need 700 of them just to replace that one coal fired plant, and even then. you’ll only get one fifth of the power because that’s the best efficiency rate they operate at. Renewable power currently supplies only 1.6% of all consumed power in the U.S. There are currently 35,000 wind powers in the U.S. The total amount of power they supply amounts to 64 Billion KWH, the same amount of power being produced from only four of those large coal fired plants over a whole year. Why I mention this is that for every four of these large coal fired plants that do close down because of this Legislation, you will need to double the number of those wind towers. The time needed to construct that many towers and the cost for all of them would be prohibitive.
As an aside, at a time when we're trying to shut down coal fired plants, the Chinese are building 500 of them in the next year.
So when you hear the Doyle using the Chinese as a scare tactic to pass his global warming bill, remember that the Chinese are doing the "all of the above" program. They're growing and have no intention of cutting their own throats over an imaginary crisis.

Global emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases rise every year, and within decades are expected to hit a worrisome atmospheric concentration threshold of 450 parts per million........Our children would live in a world of mass migrations, wars and conflicts fueled by scarce water supplies, infrastructure destruction as rising sea levels swallow coastlines, extreme weather events, wildfires and increased poverty and disease......changes to the physical geography of the planet become probable: land masses would vanish; ecosystems would collapse. Human civilization would change, and not for the better....... It's foolish to say we can't afford to pass a climate bill during a recession. We can't afford not to.
