Fox News is the mouthpiece of the Republican Party, they unabashedly promote conservative causes in lieu of reporting the actual facts. Your tough guy approach to debate is annoying, I will let you continue on your 10 page wingnut rant.
Enjoy talking to yourself.
For those out there that are realists and not alarmists, this type of intellectually empty statement is a classic liberal tactic.
They change the debate when they're losing. Don't fall for it. Stick to the facts. Then hold up mirror to them. They can't take it.

1. Respect your fellow posters and their opinions. This includes blanket statements against an entire ideology. The title of this forum is "Wisconsin Political Conversation" not "Wisconsin Political Flamewars." Keep it friendly, folks.
2. Do not attack posters specifically. You are allowed to have your own opinion, but you're not allowed to challenge someone else's right to their opinion. If I say I prefer Vanilla ice cream over Cholocate ice cream, you're not allowed to tell me that people that prefer vanilla are a bunch of morons.
3. READ THE WHOLE THREAD before replying.
4. Do not attempt to change the course of discussion in a thread. Every thread could quickly turn into a Liberal vs. Conservative (Democrat vs Republican, Dog vs Cat, Chocolate vs Vanilla) debate . Keep the discussion in the thread to the topic of the thread. If you want to start a new discussion, start a new thread.
5. Provide links as references. If you're arguing a little known topic, provide a link to back up your claim. For example, you wouldn't need to provide a link that smoking causes cancer, but you would need to provide a link if you say that cigarettes are an excellent source of vitamin C.
6. Respect the Admins and moderators. You are allowed to argue with them, unless it is about the site rules. If one of them tells you to stop doing something, stop it

Again it seems we have possibly lost yet another poster due to lack of respect of their right to post their thoughts without being bullied on this forum.
I again post the 'RULES'.
Please everyone remember to follow them!

A "realist" that's comical, you're in a perpetual state of denial. Stick to the facts? I would encourage you to do the same rather than cherry pick junk science being passed off as fact from Fox News.
"Classic Liberal tactic," "intellectually empty," please. You're backing up your argument against fact with name calling.

You're using another tactic yourself, Mark. Rather than take issue with the argument you play it down as an empty tactic.
Your contributions to these forums is reminding me of the tactics in Town Hall meetings last Summer - go in and make a ruckus to disrupt real conversation and replace it with shouting.
Please have the courtesy to acknowledge new people and to keep the arguments on a conversational level.
This is a warning, Mark. The same one I'd make to a liberal who was as bellicose. Please take heed.
Some of the Mods have suggested that we do away with national political topics. I respectfully disagree. Health care, global warming - while these are national and international in scope - these issues affect Wisconsin people and are a fitting topic for discussion. POLITE discussion.

I was for removing the Political topics but then I asked myself, is it really the topics or the way a few seem to reply to them that bothers me? The answer....I agree, the topics are very important and I agree that we should have them here for POLITE discussion.
Thank you Keith for pointing that out (again).
I will also add that it would be interesting to follow along with what is going on in our own state as far as Political discussions and would like to see more discussions concerning Wisconsin issues placed in this forum.

Well, after being called a bully, close minded, not looking at facts, have blinders on, warned by Keith, I've decided to cool down and take a look at my position and hopefully become a better, smarter person.
Based on this statement:

FOX was brought up several times. Apparantly I'm spreading FOX propaganda. So in the spirit of open-mindedness, I thought I'd see how many "cherry picked" articles I've used.
BTW, as a side note, MSNBC and others were in the White House this week getting their talking points for their shows (Olberman and Maddow). The White House also e-mails MSNBC while on air.
Out of the hundreds of links and references I've used in this thread, I've used a total of 5 from FOX. This action has made my whole arguement to be without credibility I guess. I just want to know why.
Please help me.
I'm asking for help to understand. Can anyone show me what is incorrect in any of these 5 articles? Please, tell me. I promise never to use FOX again as a source if I can just see 1 instance of inaccuracy with any of these articles.
I merely asked: "Just wondering, has anyone ever called you a bully as you grew up?" I did not actually 'call' you a 'bully'.
But then I did add: "then when anyone (especially the new members) come on with their thoughts on the subject you bully them until they go away."
So I suppose if you are a sensitive kind of guy you could have taken that offensively so for my slip in poor judgment of words I do apologize.
Oh, one last thing:
>You can have your "little old lady" forum...(directed at me, and by the way...I'm not old yet.)
>Hopefully it's not too late to get the attention of idiot politicians.
> how dumb they are
> (if you have a brain)
> perpetrated by money hungry political bodies.
> These nutty alarmists
> The President of the United States of American, the worlds greatest position of authority, The guy who's pushing carbon taxes, says.........
Our water is contaminated by carbon dioxide!
Idiot
> Nah, I don't want to be another nutjob
> High profle nutjob.
> Prince Charles, the guy who has never had a real job, lives a life of luxery, pampered to no end, is giving us 96 monthes (he calculated) to save the world because............
> How does anyone take these clowns seriously?
> And the nutjob hypocrite. NYC Mayor doesn't follow his own policies.
Just wanted to add a few KMFARM insults and name calling to show that maybe perhaps my mild slip wasn't so bad after all now was it. lol
Now lets get back to the actual topic at hand....LASTEST GLOBAL WARMING NEWS and banish the name calling and complaining please.
Happy posting.

This is from the source that Fox News used for their story, why didn't it make the cut???
Last week, federal Environment Minister Peter Garrett said experts predicted sea level rises of up to 6m from Antarctic melting by 2100, but the worst case scenario foreshadowed by the SCAR report was a 1.25m rise.
Mr Garrett insisted global warming was causing ice losses throughout Antarctica. "I don't think there's any doubt it is contributing to what we've seen both on the Wilkins shelf and more generally in Antarctica," he said.
I wonder why Fox chose not to report on the situation in the North Pole?
Just poking around on the NASA website I found more articles relating to ice losses in the Arctic than I have time to read. I guess for a "news" organization that bills itself as "Fair and Balanced" I would expect that they would report on the situation as a whole rather than cherry picking a specific geographic location in Antarctica that strengthens their case against the fact that Global Warming is taking place.
O.K. You don't dispute any facts in the articles, you just don't like the way they're written.
Fair enough. I can see why that would destroy hundreds of other facts. But I'll be the bigger person and say you're right, that story is bogus, FOX has no credibility. I have no allegiance to FOX, Republicans or anyone else. I don't have enough time to list all the Republicans that repulse me. But I don't discuss them because they are irrelevant. They have no control or power over anything. So they don't matter.
I would ask the Mod's or Keith to pull any and all posts I have made that use anything related to FOX.
As long as we're talking sources, I'm still waiting for any source that supports this:

Like this one that addresses the Arctic Ice situation. This is from yesterday, not 4 years ago like your source. Arctic Ice grew by 1 1/2 times the size of Texas.
Well, the Chinese seem to think we're in for a 20 year cool down.

it is high time to reconsider the trend of global climate change.
This warning is especially appropriate in light of Zhen-Shan and Xian's demonstration of CO2's less-than-dominant role in the global warming of the last hundred and twenty years (which may itself be inflated)
As facts and truth come into the light of day, more and more people are waking up. And it's across all party lines.
The latest data shows that only 36% now believe in man made global warming. 33% don't believe in it at all. Makes sense considering we've been cooling for over 10 years. That would, of course, explain the political decision to change the term to "climate change".
I don't fall for that one, the climate changes twice a day everyday. Once when the sun comes up, once when the sun goes down.
Well, if you have a pet, your killing the planet in the same way as driving as SUV. Get rid of all pets and we can forget Cap and Trade and stop worrying about global warming.
Partial quote:
"If you have a German shepherd or similar-sized dog, for example, its impact every year is exactly the same as driving a large car around," Brenda Vale said.
"A lot of people worry about having SUVs but they don't worry about having Alsatians and what we are saying is, well, maybe you should be because the environmental impact ... is comparable."
End quote.
Geez, between eliminating pets and population control, we're home free.

I look forward to your next challenge now that we've eliminated FOX.
Based on your post I can see why you are a Fox News fan. You either didn't read what I wrote, or just cherry picked excerpts to react to. I didn't say that the Fox News story was factually incorrect at all.
The article I cited would be similar to writing a story about how great the economy is doing right now, and then going on to highlight a few companies that happen to be prospering despite an overwhelming majority of businesses that are hurting. The story neglects to report on the big picture.
By the way, if you don't put any stock in satellite photos from NASA as a credible source then fine. Keep quoting Rupert Murdoch and friends.
Based on your post I can see why you are a Fox News fan...... Keep quoting Rupert Murdoch and friends.
We've moved on from anything FOX related. Please move on. Your DNC talking points are tiring. I've admitted the illegitimacy of FOX, so please let it go.

If you want a source, go read the IPCC's (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) reports.
I was waiting for your source on your statement. If you read any of my posts, you'd see that the IPCC is the only source for the theory of global warming and has been debunked by thousands of independant scientists.
The IPCC is a U.N. funded governement body. You believe them. I'll believe real science.

Its clear to me at this point that your MO here is to debunk any source that isn't your own, or that doesn't coincide with you set of beliefs. You will continually spin and deny regardless of the validity (scientific or otherwise) the facts and opinions of anyone that opposes what you say.

Debating with people like you is a waste of time.
I remember an old saying about a pot and kettle........
Oh well, take away the FOX boggie man and there's no substance left I guess.
Whatever, on we go..............
The NASA government employee (I won't call him a scientist) that started this whole global warming hoax, is exposed again
He said in interviews long ago, that parts of New York city would be under water by now.
Partial quote:
“The West Side Highway [which runs along the Hudson River] will be under water. And there will be tape across the windows across the street because of high winds. And the same birds won’t be there. The trees in the median strip will change.” Then he said, “There will be more police cars.” Why? “Well, you know what happens to crime when the heat goes up.”
This is a letter of real science submitted to Congress last spring. It was given to the group writing the Cap and Trade bill.
It was, of course, ignored. Probably not even read. Because Cap and Trade is about getting more of our money to the government kitty, not about science or even the climate.
It highlights 50 "red flags" in the IPCC report. It shows real and historical scientific data and compares it to the manipulated and phoney data used by the IPCC.
It's 54 pages. Read it and judge for yourself. Warning! It contains real science. Not for the easily bored or closed minded individual.
