In response to your question, Maybe you should clarify when you start these string, do you want to discuss Carbon Credits, and their Legitimacy, or Al Gore, and his purported money making scheme, with carbon credits. Clarity, being a consumer of your own services is not a schema, it is a Business Plan, followed by allot of Companies.
As far as quoting Judy McLeod of the Canadian Free Press, and placing any true weight behind her article try these two on for size, Here you will find this zinger of a line I quote

Where in history have the "correct" problems been addressed. In hind sight it would be easier to blame the community of Activist, by which " deflecting " attention away from the true problems. The problems are not going away, as Rush would have you think. No matter how much we hate Al Gore for getting rich, the fact still remains. Life ( in the future ) must change.
This problem can not be drilled away, you greatly overestimate the power of the oil we have here on American Soil.
Years of systematic corporate appeasements, and a lack of committing our Country to any ( Long Term Energy Policy) is the problem. But then, the last 8 years of policy, continues to shed light on the complacent cover-up, of both parties, to dodge the real issues, and punch out flash testimony in hopes it distracts the ever increasing distance between reality, and mediocrity.
Policy will inevitably change, when reality crashes in.

Did you read the article you referenced here? If so, read it again.
It's a 9 year old artcle which talks about Bill Clintons plan to use the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) to relieve an energy issue.
Nowhere in the article does it say that the problem can't be drilled away or that it's overestimated.
On the contrary, it supports drilling here and building more refineries. It also talks about the problems with Clinton policies. Not the last 8 years, but the 8 years prior.

Taking more money from big chemical companies. But Al's a busy guy, you can't expect him to remember things like the Bhopal, India disaster. And here I thought it was only those nasty republicans that cozied up to big business. Libs like Al are watching out for the little guy.
