Post Give Bush Your Performance Review on Workers' Rights!

Give Bush Your Performance Review on Workers' Rights!
Target: President Bush

Sponsor: American Rights at Work

It goes without saying that Bush has ample room for improvement when it comes to protecting workers' rights. If your work isn't up to par, you will hear about it from your boss.

It's time for President Bush to hear about his job performance.

Tell President Bush:

Don't bust federal employees' unions – Allow federal employees to join a union freely and fairly. That means no more unionbusting consultants or bureaucratic delays.

Stop outsourcing the federal government – A member of your cabinet, Elaine Chao, tried to outsource hundreds of jobs from the Department of Labor instead of protecting them!

Pledge to sign the Employee Free Choice Act – A majority of Congress voted for this critical legislation - the veto threats must end!

Appoint judges who will respect workers' rights and not dismantle laws – Replace the two anti-union judges on the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) when their terms expire with judges who will stand up for workers’ rights.

Send your "performance review," and remind President Bush the nation is paying attention!

Re: Give Bush Your Performance Review on Workers' Rights!

First of all I would like a definition of "worker's rights" and a definition of "worker" too.

So many of what we think of as "rights" are in reality privileges; and privileges denote a responsibility attached to them. In this age of catch phrases and political correctness (which, by the way, has it's origin in Communist China) one hardly knows what a term or phrase actually means. Does it mean the current media definition or the dictionary definition?
Because words mean things.

All that being said, the only real "worker's right" that springs immediately to mind is the "right" to be paid promptly according to the agreement established between the individual "worker" and the individual employer.

...and remind him that the borders must be secure for him to be able to protect all the illegal immigrants...once he finds out where they all are.
