When i take a vacation, I head straight up north. Bayfield and Hayward are my two favorite spots. Very touristy, but very fun. I look for campgrounds that have showers. I gave up going to the southern part of the state. :x I feel the people up north are much friendlier, and your dollar goes alot further.

Most Americans active outdoors

The results of an Outdoor Industry Foundation survey show 71 percent of Americans ages 16 and older participated in at least one of 22 human-powered outdoor recreation activities in 2004.

The activities include backpacking; bicycling on paved roads, dirt, and single track; camping; canoeing; skiing; hiking; rafting; snowshoeing; trail running; bird-watching trips; rock climbing; artificial wall climbing; ice climbing; fly-fishing; non-fly fishing; and kayaking.
