Located in just East Of Columbus off Hwy 16/60 on County Road TT is a Dodge county Park and campground. Astico is situated on a bend in the Crawfish river and offers many campsites right on the banks of the river. While this park may not be as nice as some State Parks it does offer a great weekend getaway and very pleaseing price of $15.00/night with electricty. Not all site have eletric and some are more set up for tenting while others are more set-up for larger units like motor homes and 5th wheelers. The parks does offer many amenities, just check out their web site.The 1st time we visted this park was 2 years ago on a very cool October weekend. Our heater kept us warm at night and during the day the sun kept us comfortable. That great weekend led to to revisiting this park on 10/5/07 a very hot humid October weekend. We stayed at camp site #20, located on the banks of the river, we could fish from our
campsite. Now don't ask what we caught because we did not get a single bite but it sure was an enjoyable and relaxing weekend. Looking at the Dodge county web site you will see
many more parks offering camping, we just found Astico to be the best equiped park in the county.This park is realtively close to Horicon Marsh and often the skys were fillied with low flying migrating geese.During our stay we enjoyed seeing them pass over on their journey.We enjoyed this park and will continue to revisit this place often.
