mushroom hunting

I have fond memories of mushroom hunting with my grandmother. What better way to follow up an early morning walk in the woods than with a breakfast full of freshly harvested wild foods?

Anybody else here do any wild harvesting?

Ya, I go out every spring to see what I can find....unfortunately, in my area, they're hard to come by...I find a few here and there...nothing to brag about. In the SW corner of the state where my grandmother lives, they're quite plentiful. I'vew got firends over there who brag about how they can go out for a stroll in the morning and come back with half a dozen bags full of shrooms. Rub it in why don't ya...:-) There's nothing like morels dipped in a milk/egg mix and the rolled around in cracker crumbs....then fired in butter....that may not be the most healthy way, but they are tasty!

The other day some of us mentioned mushrooms etc in another post. Just saw this thread and thought I would bump it up.

I can recall seeing mushrooms in the wild but would be fearful of actually picking and eating any..

When I was a kid, there was a Twilight Zone episode where a kid grew mushrooms and if you ate them, you turned into a Martian.. none for me, thanks!
