Racing Season Is upon Us

Gumby Racing will be back for another year at the Oshkosh Speed Zone with our next generation of driver. Al Cottrell age 15 will be taking the wheel for his first full year of driving the #00A 91 Ford Probe. It is a new car for us this year but the Probe is not new to the team as Chris ( Al's dad) drove one to a championship in 2003 in Oshkosh. The Gumby Racing team is sponcered this year by The Stadium Bar in Oshkosh, The Lyons Den Bar in Oshkosh, Multi-Conveyor in Winneconne and numerous other individual supporters. The decals on the car were done by Fuzzy and the hand painting was done by Scott and Dawn Children.
And for those that are wondering the Gumby Racing comes from Al's uncle Steve that died in 2006 from cancer he was given the nick name after a snowmobile accident a few yrs ago and it kind of stuck so we figure we should keep it going since he started us in the racing stuff. All of our races are dedicated to him he was an avid outdoors man and race fan as well as a builder and driver.
Please come out and support the track in Oshkosh it is racing at it's roots on the dirt and a dam good show.

Well the season is coming to an end with only to regular fridays left in Oshkosh. Al was in first place in points going into the feature last week, dam good for a 15 yr old true rookie in a true stock car. He was given a cheap blac flag for what they called rough driving that even most of the other drivers do not understand since he drives everyone clean. That gave him last place points for the night and pretty much knocked him out of the points race as far as I know at this time. He really wanted to rookie of the yr and as far as I and his fans are concerned he is because he is the top true rookie haveing never race ANY other classes of cars or ANY other tracks. We will just have to wait and see what these last two week bring. Racing this week, 8-24, does not look good with all the rain but hopefully we can get it in and next week too.

Al will be looking for a ride in either a street stock or a limited late model if any one is interested in a young rookie to take under thier wing. We would lke to go to pavement but will consider all and may even have some sponsors to bring along.
