Greetings and salutations!
I'm Keith, an old guy with an 18-person web design, production, programming, hosting and Internet marketing shop in Sussex, Wisconsin, USA.
I determined my first time on the Internet that I was going to be a junky, and the only way to survive being a junky is to be a dealer. You might say that I got into the business to support my habit.
Another immediate thought about the Internet was that the one thing that was missing was a sense of geography. When our web shop started we started theBubbler.com - both to show off our capabilities and to be local and state boosters.
We'll be adding more Wisconsin Forums soon - transferring this information to
www.WisForums.com (alias
www.WisconsinForums.com), and starting another board for
www.WisMusic.com. Any thoughts about a statewide music board would be appreciated. We're doing a whole slew of Wisconsin sites, part of our
www.WisNetwork.com network of Wisconsin web presences.
I've got a few other pet projects and forums. The latest is
www.WebLoggers.Org, a vB forum for, by and about bloggers and blogging. Over 100 members and 4,000 posts in about 15 weeks now. The sister blog is at
www.WebLogging.Org.
Another one is
www.Scouts.com - bought that domain name when I was a Scoutmaster ten years ago. Hope to develop it more, or sell it to someone who will.
Other than Internet/Computing I enjoy reading, writing, speaking, camping, canoeing, fishing and family. Not necessarily in that order. I also take a night off a week for Texas Hold'em, love to eat and believe in good beer.
Domaining is also a strong interest. My favorite forum (outside of our own) is
www.NamePros.com - they have their own currency! Way cool community there. If you join, please tell them WebForging sent you! Over 26,000 members and very active (and free)!
I really enjoy the sense of community that theBubbler offers. Some of my best conversations in the last few years have been via PMs (private messages) on theBubbler. Hope you'll say hello here ~ and hope you'll tell all your friends about this online community.
Regards,
Keith
