Hello from Holmen

I just found this site by accident while searching for something else. It's a nice looking site and the forums look like they're actually used! I've seen a lot of community sites while doing research for my own and the forums are typically pretty dead (including my own, unfortunately). It's refreshing to see one with activity. I was beginning to think people in Wisconsin didn't like to talk.

So, anyway, this is supposed to be about me, not the site. Hehe. I'm a SAHM in Holmen over near La Crosse. Before kids I was a programmer for about 6 years. My hobbies are website building and photography. I used to do mostly nature photography but that's hard to do these days so I've adapted and do a lot of child photography. I also build websites for fun when I get some computer time. I'm hoping to turn that into a work from home thing some day when the kids are older. For now, though, it's just a hobby.

Well, speaking of kids, the newborn is fussing and the toddler needs a change so I'm going to have to cut this short. I'll be back later to check out the rest of the site.

Thanks for the welcome. I don't really have any share worthy photos right now, unfortunately. It's been so long since I've been able to get out and take pictures of something besides my kids. I keep hoping to get out some morning before summer is over and get some shots. So far it hasn't happened but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Thanks for the welcomes everyone. Don't worry, I won't let my own site make me shy about posting here. I'll still post things on my own site because I want to get that going, but this is where the people are. I can only talk to myself so much. LOL! Seriously, though, I love being online enough to be on two forums at once. It's just my kids that keep me from being attached to the computer 24/7. :lol: I'm such a geek...

So what sort of overhaul are you doing? I haven't had a chance to look at the whole site, yet, so forgive me if I've missed a discussion of it. I think this site is pretty great as it is. It's actually eerie how close this site is to the vision I have of mine. Not the design, but the features of it. There's definitely some things I'm doing different, though, so it's not exactly the same. Plus this one has a much wider audience, so I think there's room for both of us on the net.
