I wonder if anyone remembers the huge tornado of 1951. I wasn't born yet, but heard stories about the severity of the storm, and the fact that in those days, there were no sophisticated warning systems such as we have today. Historians believe this tornado was at least an F-4, and very possibly, an F-5, which is the most dangerous of all! Not to mention that no F-5's have ever been reported in Northern Wisconsin. I live right off the road where the path of this twister destroyed my great-uncle's farm, and killed his daughter-in-law. It had already destroyed a farm, and killed a family of 5, 20 miles west, near Waupaca. The Appleton Post Crescent had this article published a week or so ago, and I found it most interesting, and would like to share it with anyone who is interested.
