Perks ~ a great Sussex Coffee Shop
If you enjoy a fine cup of joe and a good deli-style lunch, you'll like Perks on Main Street in Sussex.
Jim and Cindy Pritzlaff, the owners, do a great job of giving a little strip mall location a nice ambiance. Cindy uses the place as a base of operations for her catering business. Jim is a Member of my Lions Club (though I have no bias in this review) and they're both good citizens, volunteering for various community and service projects.
I'm a little concerned that a new Starbucks I've heard is coming to town could hurt their business. A few others I've spoken with about it think not. Their coffee (Alterra) is fine and they serve complete meals that are quite good.
Try the "Keith" - a Reuben with double ham! It's great. I like their potato salad as a side. They know just how I like my caramel lattes, too.
