Missing Avatar Images

I've been working on the missing avatar problem as I have time, but right now I'm having trouble keeping it from looking in the gallery for avatars that are actually offsite. I can fix it directly in our database, but the programming itself is being stubborn.

SO. If your offsite avatar image is coming up missing even though you are certain the image is in the correct offsite spot, reply here and I will fix it for you.

mine goes away, so I reload it from my machine, and it stays for a couple posts...then goes away again

I've been having fun trying to get a photo appear in a posting. now I'll ask someone....how is this feat accomplished?

You have to have it online somewhere. Then you use image tags bracketing the url of the image online.

So for me to put my avatar into a post, it would look like this:

{img}http://www.thebubbler.com/images/userpics/2565-2.jpeg{/img}

except that you change the { to [ and the } to ]. I had to use different brackets to show you the code, otherwise it would just put the picture, like so:

With the new theBubbler.com up and live losing avatars should no longer be a problem. I am closing this thread.
