Site of the Week

Just a quick question: What criteria are used to select the Site of the Week?

We don't have any specific criteria. Usually I just look for a clean well-organized website

Actually, here are things we look for:

- clean, well-organized as Andy said
- almost always Wisconsin-based (occasionally a national non-profit)
- fits our weekly theme for the Water Cooler News
- clients of theBubbler parent company, OnYourMark, LLC, often get a preference because we know them, and believe they're very good
- seasonal timeliness sometimes a factor
- personal choice of the WCN editor and/or publisher

Occasionally we've been persuaded to highlight a site by one of our Members. For example, aje - Amber - has added hundreds upon hundreds of links to our link directory. Amber often added one or a few dozen for a single category and when we saw all of those additions, we'd honor one of them as our Site of the Week.

If all other criteria for selection fail, we can always resort to the "dartboard" method! Just kidding! But sometimes it's hard to make a selection when there are so many excellent choices that could be made.

Perhaps we should encourage suggestions. I just don't want to disappoint when someone's suggestion isn't taken for any reason.

I would think at least a post count of 10-20 or so before you select a site of the week.

It's easy for someone to add a link and then advertise a couple times in the forums then leave.

That's not fair to others.
