I already had to resupply the New Holstein Library with the theBubbler tear off sheets that I printed from this site. Piggly Wiggly will get another one, as well.

Thank you, my Brother!

Great ideas here
This was an interesting thread. Some of the things I read I was already planning on doing for my own site when it's done and some were new ideas.
For my part, I just made a forum post on my site about TheBubbler. It may be a little crazy for a fledgling site to be sending what few users it gets off to a popular one but I figure I have my site in my siggie here so linking to TheBubbler is only fair.
I'll add a link to it in my directory as well soon. I'm still working on that part of the site.

That's righteous of you, Michelle!
It's not about getting a bigger piece of the pie...it's about making more pies!
Too bad in our cases, it's often cow pies! :lol: :lol:

I visited Michelle's site. Registered and posted a few thoughts.
This gives me the idea of having a "Between The Lakes" regional website.

Yep. I like the idea of being very specific to local geography, too. That's why I like the County forums. The link directory on the new theBubbler will have County and Community specific links with Google Maps, and the classifieds will 'force' an entry for the appropriate County to help stay local (and offer maps, too, if you want to give specific address info).
That's not to take anything away from something very local. I've just been trying to combine that - and a site for the Badger State as a whole - for a L-O-N-G time.

If making my Coulee Region site hadn't been a dream of mine for so very long and maybe even if I'd found theBubbler before I started work on it, I'd just stick to posting in the local forums on here. But I really want to make my site work, so I'm going to keep at it. I'll keep posting here as well because this site is awesome and it's fun to talk to people from other areas of Wisconsin. As I've said before, I think there's room for both. I don't think the sites are really competing since the area I cover is just a small section of what you cover and there's really no reason people can't be members of both if they want.
Thanks for the feeds offer. I've got adding local feeds on my to do list, so I'll look at that closer at some point.
Anyway, sorry to hijack the thread. This is about promoting theBubbler, not CRO. LOL!

business cards in a couple of months...
Great to know you'll be around theBubbler boards, Michelle!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I selectively distributed theBubbler.com business cards at State Fair last night.
Our Holiday Inns of Wisconsin sponsorship at theBubbler.com is doing well. The agency wanted 50,000 impressions between August 1st and September 30th, and we've given them 65,000 as of yesterday already!!!
When we get paid on that (October, I'm hoping) we'll order up enough theBubbler business cards to give to all the Moderators who want them.
Regards,
Keith
I'll take more business cards when you get them. I give them to all my new clients in their doggy packages.
Can't wait to walk into someplace I've never been before and see one of these hanging up.
chime in
lotsa folks ask for a business when I mention theBubbler. There's a good canvasing of the pdf print-out floating around...business cards would help in a conversational sort of way.
I love handing out the business cards! Just handed some out over the last few days when visiting the UP, Michigan lol I know that is not Wisconsin but we were up there because of the bubbler classifieds! I found a really great place to rent (4 bedrm) through a bubbler ad. So where ever we went people would ask if we were just visiting, I would say yes at a place I found through the free classified ad at the bubbler. Then I would proceed to get into a great conversation of which I would leave the people thinking...ummmm...if they came all the way up here because of an ad they saw on the bubbler, then maybe we should put an ad on about our business! lol
Cards are great because it really sends the message that thebubbler is a great professional site!
(p.s...add me on the list for some more cards when you get some extra, and I'll keep handing them out)!
