Adopt a pet!
A while back, someone posted a link where you could get the code to add an "adopt a pet" box to your site, a picture and link to information on a random pet up for adoption. Considering this week's theme, I thought this was a good time to add that box.
If you look on any of the pages that have the right sidebar, below the poll you'll find a box labelled "Adopt a pet!"

good stuff...
Great looking pets. Good job.
Readers, please remember that our classifieds contain great deals on pets, too, including some that are available for adoption.
Regards,
Keith

Sad todays society is a throw away one. I got a call today from someone who wants to get rid of their 6 yr old potbellied pig ~ 100% house pig, painted hooves, bows in the tail, spoiled rotten pig...because they are moving.
Another caller needs to get rid of their 2 cats because they just now realized their 4 yr old daughter is allergic to these cats that are 5 and 8 yrs old.
Caller 3 "made me an offer" and was going to allow me to take 2 breeding pigs off his hands for $100.00. I could not help it. I laughed at him. Told him #1 if I were to take in his unwanted pigs I'd be charging him a surrender fee. #2 I dont accept pigs that are not neutered/spayed.

It angers me that some people think pets are disposable. I don't see how people can move and leave pets behind. I rent and if I had to move, a place that accepts cats would be my top priority. I'm also very allergic to anything with fur. How do I deal with it? Kleenex. My cats are worth a runny nose now and then.
I know that allergies can crop up out of nowhere, but I think a lot of people use it as an excuse to get rid of pets.

I got a desparate plea from someone who must give up all her birds. She is being evicted and moving into a womens shelter.
Friday I'll run up to Appleton to pick up several parakeets, a cockatiel and a badly plucked conure.
This person is desparatly in need of help. So in situations like this I will help. With any luck she will get back on her feet real fast and I'll give her back to her.

I am home from shopping yesterday and on my deck was a huge box.....I could not remember ordering anything......
Here inside the box is 7 guniea pigs! It was freezing outside yesterday.
Of all the animals I work with, I can not work with guniea pigs. I'm very allergic to them.
They spent the night in my bathtub.....just had no where to put them....
Today I got my son to come over and pick them all up. He loves guniea pigs, but could never have them living at home.
Sure am glad I was not gone on vacation or even just gone for the whole day. They would have froze to death

Oh how sad that someone could care so little that they would put them out in the cold like that. They really can't take cold for long so it is a good thing you came home in time to save them. I just love guniea pigs. When they are tamed they can be such fun pets.
