new to area, looking for resources
Greetings to all. My wife and I have just moved here from Vermont. It is interesting we have landed in Vernon County. I have a lot of ancestry here in the county; especially in Viroqua. My wife is a milk maid and I am a designer, builder. I have been busying myself by taking jobs up in the twin cities, but I am very much hoping to find a good job in carpentry and design closer to home. Is there anybody out there with any good ideas.
My wife and I are also going to raise sheep. Does anyone have any good resources concerning the acquisition of a starter flock? Preferably Icelandics or some cross with icelandics.
We are very excited to become involved in this great community. I play an array of instruments (fiddle being the main instrument) and am hoping to find some people to jam with. I like to listen to and play all kinds of music. (anybody into playing klezmer?)

Yes!!!! Too bad I live on the other side of the state. I'm a fiddle player too.
You are going to love the Viroqua area. It's beautiful country and there are many local artisans and farmers that offer wonderful products. It seems like that area of Wisconsin is very progressive in eco-friendly living and cultural diversity.
I've only been out that way a few times so I'm afraid I can't offer suggestions on local resources. Hopefully some of our western Wisconsin members have some advice. Welcome to theBubbler and to Wisconsin!

Re: new to area, looking for resources
Thank you for your reply. Once we are more established we are looking forward to holding some jam sessions/parties full of music, beer and merriment. This might not happen till next year, but when it does, the more fiddlers the better.

Re: new to area, looking for resources
Welcome to the Badger State!
We have a longtime Member here from The Historic Viroqua Public Market @ Main Street Station and that sounds to me like a great place to get to know people.
I hope to get up there myself to talk to people, enjoy Main Street Station and promote theBubbler.
Once again, welcome to Wisconsin, and to our Wisconsin online community.
Regards,
Keith
