Trempealeau County's best
who are the wisest, oldest, funniest, most eccentric or otherwise unique individuals in your County that we should come to know.
Bob Bockus of the Strum area is one of the old timers I have really enjoyed knowing. He's been saying for many years that he doesn't dare buy green bananas, but he just keeps on doing what he does with style. He reminds me a lot of Donald Rumsfeld in appearance, but is more of a country gentleman. He's a man definitely worth getting to know.
Please tell us the best place to eat, to drink, to play softball, have a picnic, camp, hunt or fish.
The Norske Nook in Osseo has got to be the place to go for a great down home meal with deserts to die for. If you haven't seen their 4" tall merenge you really are missing out. Go on in on Thursdays for the lunch special. They make the most scrumptious stuffed pork chops you can imagine!
Any "must-see" landmarks? Points of interest? Any great collections, whether mainstream or offbeat? What's the best way to go about experiencing them?
I've got a weakness for antiques, junk shops, etc and so I can just get lost in Osseo or Blair checking out the shops. With the popularity of the home decorating shows, these places are a real treat for those wanting to re-purpose items or add a bit of country charm without spending a bundle.

Reading this surely makes me want to come up there and visit....my ancestors settled in your area and I am sure some are still around there....trying to find the living tho in genealogy is not that easy....most of my close relatives are gone so was trying to find anyone left still in the family that we did not even know we had...I have obits from online help from this area....thus why I feel there may be more of us..
I found one in Florida from waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back-- living as he is also doing his own genealogy.....maybe now with *ST* I can afford to dig a bit deeper...so far I am just on the freebie onfo...
