There is a little "scale" like the "scales of justice" that you can use to give reputation, which shows in the little boxes under a user's name to the left of their post.
That part on the left is called a 'post-bit' and shows the member name, title, number of posts, length of membership, etc.
When you click on the scale at the bottom of the post bit for a post you like, you get a box that you check either "I approve" or "I do not approve". Please tend to accentuate the positive, then give a short five or eight word explanation of why you approve. The result is shown in the addition (one box for every couple of 'approvals') in the poster's post-bit.
Please DO NOT use the disapproval because you don't agree with someone. Use it only if you feel that person is abusing the boards by spamming them and situations like that.
I've gone out of my way these last few days to thank some people for great contributions by adding to their "reputation". I hope you'll join me in giving this kind of recognition.
Regards,
Keith
p.s.: Another way to recognize great threads is to click on the "Thread Tools" at the top thread and to click on the stars for "Rating the Thread" (5 stars is best).
