Holidays
Hi could we somehow add a forum for Holidays and or seasonal under its own sub forum for say Wisconsin Conversation. I would really like to see topics congregated for the single topic; I have gotten so lost trying to find topics or conversation pertaining to a Holiday.
For example:
Holidays
Sub Categorized into
Halloween
Christmas
Easter
4th
Thanksgiving
Memorial Day
Labor
etc.
Then each would have one more division:
Events/ Announcements
Ideas for Crafts/ decorations
Greetings
Inquires

Re: Holidays
The new search feature on the site should help with this. If you go to the search box in the upper right and click "Forums" your search will be forum-specific. Then, type in "holidays" and click "Search" to get a list of threads related to holidays. You can also search by specific holiday (i.e. halloween) to see Halloween-related threads.
Events can go on http://www.wisevents.com
There is an arts and crafts forum already.
The Announcements thread is another place for holiday and event discussion.
The more forums we make, the more we have to monitor, so I think we can try to work with what's already there.

Re: Holidays
Will admit I had not noticed that little search box up there in the right hand corner until you pointed it out..............if I knew, I forgot.....but just played around with it and it's rather quite handy. Cool!!
I also found out (I think) how to do pics again!! I was set in basic mode and just changed to standard mode and now I have all these little tools handy and I see a "add image" button

I love your interests in the Holdays, Amber.
I agree with Krist10, too ~ because we do better having fewer topics with more threads and posts than we do with more topics and categories and thinner posts in them.
Now, if we get so many holiday threads and posts that we need to sort them....
Regards,
Keith

Re: Holidays
I agree with Keith.. a simpler format makes for easy access and tends to encourage more posting. It's less confusing. If people who post will be more descriptive in their post title, it also aids in searching for the subjects you might be interested in.

Re: Holidays
Funny, I thought about this again when I posted a Christmas gift exchange post this morning in the Wisconsin ? General Conversation category. It would be a lot to have a halloween section going, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and to have enough to fill it all. Come to think of it, I tried a Halloween thread...made a new one, a week or two ago and I don't think I've had a reply. Oh well. Traffic and posts are increasing yet, and that's the main thing.
Regards,
Keith
