added feature

In your Navagation Panel , add a link to all the current banner advertisers. In this was people like me who suffer from C.R.S. can find what caught their eye before it flashed away to the next banner ad. Use the actual Banner ad in the linked page for ease of recognition, us old folk can not rememeber names that well.

nifty idea...

I like that idea, too, because we can showcase all of our sponsors.

Might be available in phase 1 of the new theBubbler.com ~ thanks for the thought!

Regards,
keith

theNew theBubbler Wish List

As we are starting to use the new site, I am sure some of us will have ideas on how to make it easier to navigate and more intuitive.

I thought I would start a thread regarding new, additional or changed features people would like to see on the site.

The first one I would like to add is adding new threads and subscribed threads to the Forums drop down menu. For some reason I keep trying to go the forums drop down to find these links rather than going to the quick links tab.

Re: theNew theBubbler Wish List

Ask and ye shall receive.

I added it to the forum menu but I left it in Quick Links because anyone who's used to vB will be looking for it there.

Re: theNew theBubbler Wish List

Thanks for the quick reply Crys.

Glad you left it where it was too. Because it is better to find in too many places than not enough!

I still like this idea. I think it would be great under theBubbler >> Sponsors

We'll work on it.

Keith

Each sponsor should have a link in at least one place.
One could always do a search in the directory or catch the link on the community or county page.

Re: added feature

That's a great idea to give each sponsor a link "somewhere"

Or even a section called "Sponsors" that we could just click into and see everyone?

Re: added feature

I have an idea for an added feature for the cooking section.

Does anyone have the recipe for or how to make a certain...(if could be named better...) lol

Such as, I remember a great chocolate chip cookie with chow mein noodles in it but can't find the recipe. It could be posted in this new section and members that know anything about it could respond.

I know I could just post it but if there is an actual section for it under the cooking section it may be noticed and used more.

Just a thought.

Thumbs up Added Catagory...

Well after being a visitor for to long, and then not posting after I was a member, I find this is and can be the place for all, even the ones from Wisconsin but are stuck somewhere else to learn...

The one I posted today is called Wisgreen...

Forgive me on this one for I have discovered I posted in the wrong spot...

Well now the idea is to have a main category of Wisgreen that we can discuss greenness issues...

Subcategories of electric power, solar, hydro, geothermal, wind, and so on...

This can be a place for all to get info of how to start with there own system, or the latest technology from around the world...

Never know, Kermit the frog might even give his input...

Re: added feature

We get a lot of requests for new forums; I'd like to explain how the forums break down.

The first level in the forums is Categories like General, Recipes and Sports.

The next level is the forums within these categories, like Orphanages and Adoptions and Military in the Genealogy category.

Within these forums, there are threads. The threads are the individual discussions that relate to the subject of the forum, like Forever homes needed in the Cats forum.

To see if the topic you'd like to discuss is already has a thread, you can use the search box in the upper right of the screen to search the forums. Click on Forums (next to the More> link) and type keywords in the box. Click search and see what comes up. You can add your thoughts to an existing thread.

If there are no threads discussing your topic and you can't find a forum that fits it, you can post to General Wisconsin Conversation. A moderator can move your thread to an appropriate forum if needed. Topics related to eco-friendly living would probably fit well in the Natural Sciences and Scientists forum for now.

We usually don't start a new forum unless there has been a lot of talk on a particular subject. When we started having a lot of animal-related discussion, we started the Animals category and subforums. If we add a forum for every topic that comes up, we'll have a lot more to sort through and a lot of forums that may end up dead.

So keep talking and participating in the forums! If we see a topic that's generating a lot of threads, it may get its own forum.

This is an item I've seen requests for, and I've seen people posting requests in the recipe threads when only recipes should be in those.

So, we now have the Recipes Wanted forum!

Re: added feature

Thanks Kris!

I think it will be a great place to help find those recipes that you remember making once upon a day but can't find where you wrote it down. Or maybe you remember eating a certain cake, pie, dinner and wondered how it was made. Maybe by asking around someone will know how to make it.

I always pick up this one cooking magazine that has a space each time for people looking for info like this. The only problem with that is sometimes people are asking about a certain recipe that sounds really good but you never see what the response is.

Here you will get to read the question and the answers.
