Just a thought. How about on the classifieds main page, having the date and time of the last post in each catagory.

Good thought...
Great idea. We'll add it to our list (100+ improvements we'd like to see).
Another thought along the same line is being able to put in the number of 'Recent Ads'. Right now we show the latest 25. There are times, especially as we sometimes get over 25 new ones in a day, that I'd like to see the last 50, 75 or 100.
Another way would be to see all the ads since a given date (perhaps including the 'date you last visited the classifieds').

Actually, we can change the number of ads that show up per page. I upped it to thirty a few months ago, so the Most Recent Ads (and all the ads pages) shows thirty per page.
What we really need is for the Most Recent Ads to be pageable so that you can view two or three pages worth. That didn't look like quite as quick a change so I added it to the list of future improvements.
