new topic/forum?

Just a thought.

On another forum I use to visit I would post about the many different restaurants in the area that we ate at and if we liked/disliked the food/service etc. Others would share their thoughts on various places also. Like a food critic section. It was also great for people new in the area to know about the places around that they could stop at. Maybe you have gone past a certain place but like many people you hate to just pop into a new place without hearing from others as to what to expect from this new place, casual? pricey? best food to order? family style? etc. This would also be great for those on vacation since this site is for all of Wisconsin.

We go out every Saturday night for our 'date' night and after doing that for years we had alot to offer and would post often. Also we ended up wanting to find 'new' adventures to go to. Reading what others had to say helped us to try different places.

We also started using our Entertainment Guide Books, and on line coupon source to visit places all over we never stopped at before. The coupons actually sent us to places we sometimes didn't even know the town existed. Such as Rochester Wisconsin? Really not very far from us, but we never heard of it before. (the place was called 'Chances' and was great). I always liked to find reviews on the Internet if possible to also tell us about these new places before we stopped in. That is always helpful. If I found a great place I would then post it for others to check out.

Maybe you can start this as a topic in the break room and move it if it shows interest?

Just let me know..I have a ton of places I can tell about! Starting with the fact that we live in Kenosha and just wandered to Beliot Wisconsin last Saturday night....we stopped for pizza. I'll finish when the post goes up. LOL

entertainment section

Just wanted to post that I noticed your entertainment section (I'm still finding new things on here!) This is really a great place with links etc..

If you also had a section here in the forums people could also discuss their personal experiences and thoughts on the various places they ate at.

Or do you have something already in place in the forums?? I feel I have so much more to read and learn about on here...it's endless! lol and that is a great thing.

Hiya pk!

Great to speak with you today.

Love the forum posts and suggestions. Been hoping to get more action in the even more local (than statewide) County Forums. Every one has a 'the Best Peoples, Places and Things' topic...and plenty more could be introduced. We want to avoid 'advertisements' in the forum text itself, and honest to goodness critiques and raves by independent bodies are one way to do that.

Plus, the most recent forum posts show up on the County 'home' page here at theBubbler.

hmmm...hope that's food for thought, pk!

Regards,
Keith

Please feel free to post these kinds of things into any of the appropriate forums. You don't need to ask us to start the thread, just go ahead and post it.

As Keith mentioned, I would suggest the individual county forums as the best place to post reviews of restaurants in a particular area. That's kind of what they're there for, as a collection point for information in that location.

I thought about trying to do restaurant and music venue reviews for a living but there's not so much money in it, even though every one always wants to read reviews of a place before going there.

Beloit has some really good pizza places, or did when I was in college there. The cafeteria was closed Sunday nights so there was a thriving Pizza industry catering to students on Sundays. Where did you go?
