Maize! The Cultural History of Corn

This exhibit highlights the history, use, and importance of corn
From its earliest days as a plant domesticated by the ancient Indian people of Mexico, corn has played a central role in the evolution of civilization
Today it is one of the most widely used crops in the world
Objects on display include several varieties of corn, Native-American corn-processing tools and textiles and art that depict corn, as well as many examples of corn-based products
