DUNDEE — Just like many times this past year, the Koepke family of Dundee literally held each other up on Friday.
Even Ty Pennington couldn’t contain the exhausted crowd — some 10,000 strong — who came back to life at 3 p.m. when the host of “Extreme Makeover Home Edition” finally shouted “BUS DRIVER, MOVE THAT BUS!”
If you talk to the animals they will talk to you, If you do not talk to them you will not know them. And what you do not know you will fear. What one fears, one destroys. ~Chief Dan George. (1899 - 1981)
A week full of non stop, round the clock work to build a 45-hundred square foot home...including landcaping came to a dramatic conclusion Friday afternoon as Christine Koepke and her four children got their first glimpse of their Extreme Makeover home. Thousands of people packed the tiny berg of Dundee for the big reveal and to yell "move that bus!" Extreme Makeover Designer, Michael Moloney, says the Koepke house features what may be the most sophisticated interior design the show has ever done. The value of the entire property including furnishings is estimated at one and a half million dollars...but Moloney says contrary to some rumors...the Koepke's will not have to worry about coming up with money to pay taxes. The show's executive producer, Diane Korman, says the show's visit to Wisconsin has been a wonderful experience. She says Wisconsin residents "are some of the most amazing people on the planet." Korman says if you want to learn more about the show...or behind the scenes from the Koepke Makeover house you can log on to www.extrememakeoverwisconsin.com
