In his year career, pianist Butch Thompson has earned a world-wide reputation as a master of ragtime, stride, and classic jazz piano.
Born in Marine on St. Croix, at age 18 he made a pilgrimage down the Mississippi River and became one of the few non-New Orleanians to appear at Preservation Hall during the 1960's and '70s.
Performing at Festival during the height of our fall colors, you can be sure Butch will offer up the Maple Leaf Rag in this solo concert.
