Hi all
I had an opportunity this spring to visit my daughter who lives in London.

Go to the link below for a small slide show with music. As I get time I want to set-up a web site with my photography.
let me know what you think.

Oh, I so much want to visit London!

About a quarter of the way in there's a picture of a tunnel. Where is that? It's a great picture.

Which ship are the deck photos from?

You've got some really well-framed pieces in there. I esp. liked the watertown station clock, the landscape with the rain clouds overhead (I think it was over the Thames?) and the one looking up through a tree at a domed building (all three nearer the end).

Thank You Crys for the compliments
The tunnel shot was looking up from the entrance to the tube (sub-way)
It reminded me a scene from eyes wide shut
the Ship decks phots were taken on the Cutty Sark in dry dock by the Thames in Grenwich. The Clock is at Waterloo station. The cloudy landscapes I am guessin was taken from the London Eye , an icedable way to get a spectacular view of london. The domed building is St Pauls Catherdral. A shot you could not get in the summer when the trees are leafed out.
London was great and there was not enough time to do all I wanted. The funny thing about my trip was, I would have never gone to london but my daughter lives there and I have not seen her for a while.
The one shot of me walking across the street, that is Abbey road and the location of the recording studio for the Beatles. I just had to go there.
It was too cool to go bare foot!
In London the past reside next to the present. Histroy is everywhere and within your reach!

Just watched your whole video of your London Trip. I enjoyed the whole clip. So many great shots that it really made me wish I was there enjoying everything.

Abbey Road pic... I would be soo thrilled to walk on that! Wouldn't care if it was below 0 degrees, think I would have to do it bare foot! lol

The clouds and the pictures through the trees was really good. Love to take pictures with nature included in some way.

Thanks for sharing this with all of us.

I am glad you enjoyed it. I hope you had your sound on.

My daughter thought it was an absolute waste of time going over to Abbey road, then she tried pawning off a different intersection as the one I wanted to cross. I told her no way I will know it whe I see it, so we walked quite a ways down Abbey road. It it is a very narrow street . I just kept imagining what it was like when the Beatles weree recording there. Shee muttered something about me being and old hippie.
If I had the money, I would visted there every year, but probably in summer not spring.

ohhh for the hippie days, and the beatles all again...lol

I was soo a Paul fan! For so many years when I was very young Paul was my heart throb so much! I remember doing a math story problem one time in class and part of the problem was adding weeks together and I added '8 days a week' and handed it in. After I sat down and realized what I did I had to go back up and ask for my paper back and explain to the teacher what I did! Talk about embarassing. LOL

But the thrill of walking on Abbey Road must have been great. Glad you had an opportunity to do so!

By the way..I did have the sound on when watching your clip. I intend to watch it again and try to figure out some of the buildings. Did you get to tour the inside of very many places?

A week stay in London is not enough time. We exhausted ousrselves from that trip but we did see many things. Buckingham is only open in the summer, but Kennsington was open. We looked at many cathedrals but only entered a few. The pubs(I live in Appleton, I do not like smoke in bars)but they are quaint, the ale (mmmmmmmmmmmmm )and food was just soso but I do like fish and chips with my ale.
When I first started to compile the photos for that clip , that Pete Towend song came immediately to my mind. I could picture him working on a new song and then going out for a walk only to be inspired by what he saw and imagined. I think it fits perfectly.
The ship is the Cutty Sark a museum for ship figureheads.
The lone tree is a top a small hill cose to the Greenwich Observatory. There are shots of the obervatory in the clip al well. The dome behind the tree is St Pauls Cathedral.

and the Abbey Road now if I had more time I would have travled to Liverpool.
I walked down that street and I swear I heard John Lennon saying"I dig a pigmy" and Paul singing " bang bang, Maxwell's silver hammer came down.."

as you can see I could go on and on..
Visting London was never big on my list but I would go back at the drop of a hat , if I could.

Back to the old grind that nasty 4 letter word "W O R K"
