Old World Wisconsin

I recently had the opportunity to visit Old World Wisconsin located in Eagle, WI.
Old World Wisconsin is a living history museum of early life in Wisconsin complete with volunteer role-playing guides. Their knowledge of the history they portray will take you back to a time in Wisconsin when the work was hard, life was difficult and there were few rewards beyond survival.
The museum is located on a sprawling 600 + Acres of land with enough green space between exhibits to eliminate any distractions. The museum provides trams for those who could not walk the lengthy path through the represented ethnic communities.
Those include Norwegian, Polish, Danish, German, Finnish, African-American and the Yankee Area.
I would plan at least a five hour stay at this site. Once you have visited this site you will agree with me that it truly cannot be absorbed in one visit, you will want to return many times. I have included their link as I cannot cover all of what “Old World Wisconsin is about or what they offer in this posting.
I have included some of the photographs I took on my visit and made an attempt to capture the past as it was presented to me.

Those that survived this harsh lad were very special people. From what I can recall 25% of those who immigrated to Wisconsin could not accept the difficult realty of the daily trials they faced and returned to their homeland. If you can trace your roots back to the settlers of Wisconsin, consider yourself the descendant of a hearty group of people.

We've been to Old World Wisconsin several times over the years and have always enjoyed it. The first time we walked through the whole thing but after that we rode the tram when we could. This is a picture of my boys when we were there the first time in 1991.

I used a Canon PowerShot SX10IS. It is a fairly light non-changing lens that goes from approx 28mm wide to 200mm telephoto.
I do prefer wide angle shots.
My processing iis in the following order: color correction using PhotoShop Elements, Ten using PhotoScape( a freeware) resize,add vignette and sepia tone.
Those boys look good but I bet they are much taller now.
